Johnson 175 Fast strike little brass ball Carb Filling it up

I've always replaced them. Not too difficult but I've done it many times so am biased. As a general rule when replacing carb bowls on any carb, make sure you remove the orifices from old bowls and put in the new.

So, what did you do today?

Well, after all the googleing and asking folks I ambgoing to resort to prayer... I think I will try the brush hog again but use the neighbors bigger tractor. Then rock salt. I want it dead. Then get the topsoil out and spread road bed. It'll be good parking for the shop and boats. Or for...

So, what did you do today?

Why is Rock salt bad? I got to think it more enviro friendly than a chemical but I could be way wrong. The goal is to have dirt. Grass and weeds that could be mowed would be 2nd choice. The black berry stems or vine or stalk whatever you call it is un mow able. It's also incredibly...

So, what did you do today?

Well, for several years wild blackberries have been encroaching on the shop. They are a waist high crop of prickly, very prickly somewhat vine like growth that gets I believe blackberries. It's a couple acres worth of growth now. They expanded exponentially the last two seasons. They HAVE to...

    98 johnson 50hp wont idle

The timing cam roller has lost the outer layer. You will not get it to idle well without that. Replace roller. Might check the throttle cam follower roller as well.

Oil fired boiler....Is the block replaceable?

I'd braze it, ends up stronger than the nickel rod when you consider the haz. Might not be an option. I know nothing about these. I do braze cast iron on a regular basis.

So, what did you do today?

Well. Put the 2nd coat of tung oil on. Ill let it dry for a day or two until I can feel my elbow. Running the buffer took more than I remember. I was forcing it to get the buff driven in. 1st of two coats of h2olox finish will go on Monday night or Tuesday. 24 hours apart. Then wait a...

So, what did you do today?

This is the waterlox system. Been around since 1910. I am using the UTOS and h2olox products. The beauty of this is when its time to refinish you don't have to do the whole floor. Just the high traffic areas. Basically, you wait till your going on vacation. Deep clean area with their...

    2010 Evinrude etc 60HP won’t stay running

This just dawned on me...I have had a couple of that vintage that had kinked fuel lines. The one leading to the high pump. They take a weird bend thats fairly sharp and hidden from view. It was a bugger to change them out now that I recall. I believe I did it without pulling the flywheel or...

    2010 Evinrude etc 60HP won’t stay running

Are the lights blinking on the system check guage? Are yhe lights blinking on the emm? Should be throwing a code. If no code id start with fuel filters and verify pressures. When it quits is it a gradual decline or like flipping a switch?
