The high pressure fuel pump has been changed. It will start, but have to keep feeding it fuel to stay running. I was told by someone locally it is either ecu or high pressure fuel pump. Suggestions?

Are the lights blinking on the system check guage? Are yhe lights blinking on the emm? Should be throwing a code. If no code id start with fuel filters and verify pressures. When it quits is it a gradual decline or like flipping a switch?

I would verify its a fuel issue before diving into electrical.

Would check status of everything from tank to pump to see if leaks/clogs.

If by feeding fuel you mean priming the primer bulb, then its most likely the fuel pump or carbuerators, if everything from tank to pump is satisfactory.

As stated above the ecm should throw a code.Want to know if the fuel system is operating correctly just close the vent on your tank assuming its a portable and watch for awhile. It will collapse a 12 gallon tank like a diesel sub at 2000 ft.Yours truly found that out lol.Mines a 2011 60 etec.Maybe the tank hose is buggered or the bulb.Other than maybe at the beginning of the year ive never pumped the bulb ever.

This just dawned on me...I have had a couple of that vintage that had kinked fuel lines. The one leading to the high pump. They take a weird bend thats fairly sharp and hidden from view. It was a bugger to change them out now that I recall. I believe I did it without pulling the flywheel or some fairly involved component. I believe I swore that the next time I the marina would just have to pay and I was gonna pull whatever it was that was in the way. Anyways checke the fuel lines. Pretty sure it was the supply but it may have been a return...it is hidden.
