    2-cycle gas

Actually, you can burn it in car engines but you must dilute it first. If done correctly can even improve a car engine and most 4 strokes. The trick is you must dilute the mix ratio to 640/1. I run 640/1 in all my 4 strokes and they all run extremely well. The small amount of TCW-3 has the...

1993 mercury 115 4 cylinder 2 stroke. Turns over won’t start. Pops like it wants to every once in a while. Can’t figure it out

Yeah. I had to replace all the oil system hoses on my motor some years ago as they all began leaking with age. I don't remember how much oil needs to be in the tank to keep the alarm from sounding. I'd say fill it half way and try it. You might have a bad level sensor in the tank. Also...

It's supposed to beep once when you turn the key on. That's the self-test. Constant beeping could be low oil in the oil tank. The warning could also sound for an overheat condition. There's nothing wrong with the autoblend system on these motors. Mine is still going strong after 30 years

1993 mercury 115 4 cylinder 2 stroke. Turns over won’t start. Pops like it wants to every once in a while. Can’t figure it out

My manual states 120 ft/lbs which is pretty stout. Book shows using a flywheel holding tool which latches onto the starter teeth.

Did you pump up the primer bulb till firm? You can check the enrichner this way. With the engine off, turn key on (but not to start. Have somebody push the key while you listen to the enrichner solenoid. It should make a click when the key is pressed.

    62 Merc700 Compression specs

90 psi might be normal for a 1962 motor. Supposedly, my old 1963 Johnson can only hit 90 psi if the cylinders are perfect.

1988 Mercury 2 stroke 15HP outboard fueling issue

Have you checked the fuel pump? You can do a quick test of the fuel pump by pumping the primer bulb while running. Does that help?

'86 Johnson 50 hp, rough idle, rich on one cyl

When you cleaned the carbs did you replace the floats and needle valves? Maybe the #1 carb's float is bad and flooding?

    Hole shot hesitation

Well, the bottoms would eventually kick in without the accelerator pump. The accelerator pump just makes them kick in sooner. That's why I brought it up.

    Hole shot hesitation

The bottom two carbs don't have an idle circuit. Instead there is an accelerator pump connected directly to the bottom two cylinders that gets them going when throttling up. You can do a basic test of the accelerator pump function while idling on muffs. Simply depress the accelerator plunger...

    150 EFI ongoing issue

How do they "rebuild" an ECM? I thought those were sealed in epoxy and they either work or they don't.

    Mariner 60hp 2 stroke tachometer

The "alternator" on your motor is the stator. You should be able to hook a standard tachometer to one of the yellow wires from it.

Help with 40hp 1982 mercury trigger assembly

You might be better off buying a used trigger on ebay. One that exactly matches what you have.

    Mariner 60hp 2 stroke tachometer

Yes. You set the idle RPM in forward gear. Usually about 650 to 700 but check the specification in the manual to be sure.

    1985 mariner 150

Take it back out to the lake with a helper. Get motor to act up. When it does it have somebody pump the primer bulb. If that helps, it's a fuel pump or fuel delivery issue.

Good afternoon every one, I'm a new member for this forum, from Malaysia. Happy to meet you all, friends. I'm utilizing Outboard Mercury 115, 4 stroke

The primer bulb deflating would indicate a restriction in the fuel line from bulb to tank or the tank vent is plugged.

    2002 mercury 40 hp 2 stroke

Yeah, that sounds correct. You set the timing arm to max (can do that with the throttle) then turn it over with the spark plugs out or disconnected and grounded. The silver bolt is the max timing adjuster. So, the manual specs max timing to be 28 BTDC? I think you stated the manual has idle...

    2002 mercury 40 hp 2 stroke

About the point that FlyingScott brought up, that he did not think your motor was idling at 25 BTDC. If it was, it would be idling really fast like maybe 2000 rpm. Does it do that?
