    94 Johnson 115 wet plugs

Maybe check the carb idle mixture settings. It might be running too rich at idle so when you shut it off it leaves the plugs wet.

    1989 Sea Ray 160

I don't remember that happening on my motor. I don't think fuel should be able to go backwards to the fuel tank (or wherever it's going, into the crankcase?). I'd be looking at the fuel pump or the primer bulb.

    No spark

Do you mean it's not starting? Not even turning over? What's your battery voltage? Have you tried rope starting it?

Low rpm’s on 2007 Mercury 60hp EFI at WOT

The main difference between purring in the driveway and trying to get on plane is a lot more fuel needs to be supplied. I'd be looking at the fuel pump.

    Heavy Torque on start up

To add to what Chris posted, you probably could use a pin in the holes of the transom bracket to limit the full down trim position.

2001 Mercury 50 hp 2 stroke leaking fuel

Sounds to me like an issue with the carb's needle valve and float. The needle valve and float are not doing their job of maintaining the proper fuel level in the carb bowl and the excess fuel is coming out the vent hole. You should get a rebuild kit and replace the needle valve and float...

New here and to outboard jets

Sounds like you are on the right track. Depending on how well the motor was maintained, a 1988 will probably need all new oil/fuel hoses and a fuel pump rebuild.

    Oil injection removal Mariner 90HP

Why remove it? The oil injection on the Mercs works well. Also, what year Mariner? On my merc, the rod that connects the oil injection to the throttle broke so I have the injection ratio fixed at 50/1. It works perfectly like that and it so much more convenient than premixing.

115hp 2 str 4 cyl merc high rpm trouble?

Do this in a safe place on the water. Try having somebody squeeze/pump the primer bulb when it "runs funny" or bogs down. If that helps, then check or rebuild the fuel pump.

    compatibility

Bog when you nail it usually indicates the low speed/idle mixture is set too lean. Try opening it a 1/4 turn.

1989 Mercury Blackmax 150 no spark

If you swamped the wires coming from the stator (not the trigger), and the problem moved to the other bank, that would indicate a problem with the stator. Sounds like one of the outputs to the switchboxes is not supplying power. It's not the switchboxes because those are still attached to the...

    50ELPTO timing issue.

Have you checked the flywheel key?

    1995 Mercury 115hp. Wot bog

Also to add, if pumping the primer bulb helps, look at the fuel pump. If the fuel pump has never been refurbished, it's due any way.

    1987 225 Evinrude no spark

Could it have been something that happened during battery removal or installation?

    Help diagnosing a problem

You say nothing happens when you turn the key but is the starter turning the motor over but not starting?

Would connecting to a battery charger cause this?

Sporadic rough running in neutral and idle

If I was to guess, I'd check, fuel filters, fuel pressure and do a spark gap test. Being an intermittent issue, it may be hard to nail down.

    1989 Sea Ray 160

Take it back to the water. Do the same thing you did. Give it gas but this time have somebody pump the primer bulb while running. If it keeps going that means there is still a problem with the fuel pump. Basically, the primer bulb does the fuel pumping.

Spark plugs for older Merc (80s)?

I remember seeing a tech bulletin like this for my 100 hp years ago. I tried the gapped plugs but found they did not seem to hole shot as well so I went back to the surface gapped plugs.

1989 Mercury Blackmax 150 no spark

Those V6 motors have two switchboxes. One for each bank. Did you disconnect the kill wire from both switchboxes?
