I've got some gas with 50:1 2-cycle oil. It's about a year old now. Although it has Stabil in it, I'd like to burn it up and get some new gas just to be on the safe side. Is it ok to burn that up in my modern car?

I wouldnt. the oil in the 2-stroke does not play nice with your catalytic converter.

Agreed with both.
Or give it to a neighbor or a lawn service.

Actually, you can burn it in car engines but you must dilute it first. If done correctly can even improve a car engine and most 4 strokes. The trick is you must dilute the mix ratio to 640/1. I run 640/1 in all my 4 strokes and they all run extremely well. The small amount of TCW-3 has the ability to clean combustion chambers without harm to anything including the cat converter. This means for every gallon of 50/1 you must have about 12 gallons of straight gasoline.

e10 does a better job of cleaning combustion chambers than oil does.

If you trade cars often and want to do it put it in a few gallons a time to a mostly full tank. But if you keep it a long time there is no reason to introduce more oil to the cat. But if you have an old truck lawnmower , tractor, generator, or tiller or anything else that runs gas put it in there and it will burn it fine. It would be hard to imagine you wouldn't have one or several of those others.
