They had bed the stringers in that stuff. My build also had been repaired in the bilge with epoxy. So I had to get creative to transition from epoxy to poly but 98% of the boat went back together with poly.the remaining 2% was epoxy.I had seen something that described what that stuff was...

It's like concrete. I don't remember exactly what it is. I had a bunch in my boat. I played hell removing it all. I chiseled alot and ground with a diamond disk for a 4" grinder.

It's wet and compromised. Moisture will continue to migrate up. Sealing it up would contain the moisture even more.... and then there is the crack

    The End

well... I think today would be my last trip out, at least to get wet. Still mid 80's but by Halloween it usually gets cold. Water was 75 and smooth. They do a Xmas parade at night with lights on the boats here. I might participate this year

    bonding keep to hull

Here is how I got around the "poly not bonding to epoxy" issue. There was a repair made on my boat with epoxy and if I had ground it all out I might have had some hull gel coat left.... maybe. took her out and broke her in. About 3 hours. Ran good without issues. Should have painted manifolds.... still might. And as a bonus the new ls 6.0 that has about 700 miles on it also ran great pulling the grade out of the lake. It's a steep grade that is several miles. Nice feeling to have...

1st Boat and owner of a boat (let's be clear here🤣)

Do you have a incandescent test light? I don't like led ones because they will light up with almost no current and give false indications. Assuming when you jump fat blue or green you hear pump run and drive move... 1. Check big incoming 12v for power 2. Jump Incoming power to the small blue...

OMC 140hp with 400 stringer sterndrive lots of questions!

That is the fill hole. Fill ti there. If you look on the inside of the boat in the same spot you will see a little rectangle cover. Mine didn't have a drain plug so I have to remove that cover and suck old out.

    Glastron soft floor

Choose a foam manufacturer and look on their site. They will have the expansion rates and at what temp. The colder the environment the less it will expand.get at least 10-15% more than you need. I bought an extra kit and needed every bit I had
