Stringer rotten

So got my shoulder looked at and steroids help and on the mend. Had to stop work because my mother in law went to hospice so dealing with that now. Quick question. The boat has / live wells with plumbing running to back of boat to bilge pump and drains out beside the pump Intake all at transom. I’m going to get a kit from tiny boat to replace all that but there is a small box with drain in bottom with a plug that stops water from escaping . The box is in front of console and looks like it at one time had a hose that ran out the side near console below water line. The hose is gone and there is a 1 inch hole on sidw of boat below water line. I can get a nozzel that will fit and attach a hose to it and bottom of live well. This is a small live well , maybe a bait box. Will water just come in and fill and stop when box is full or do I need some kind of pump shutoff value . I can’t find anything on this any where. Does someone have a clue if this is a bait box for minnows or something and what would be the best way to plumb this.

It's most likely a cooler for your beer with a drain

I guess that makes since since it has a plug in bottom of box that you have to reach in and pull out. Just didn’t know since the outside drain is below waterline. Thank

Question on live well pump. I have a front and rear live well. Can I run both Ive wells on one pump or do I need two live well pumps one for each live well. I was going to Oriya live well lit from tiny boat but they told me to reach out to flow-rite and see if they could help me. They havnt got back to me and it’s been a week. Maybe someone on here knows what I need to hook both up to one pump with some kind of value or maybe a tee of one line. Thanks for all help. Randy

Doesn't it depend on how much flow you need? See what your pump puts out and compare that to a normal livewell pump.

If she pumps harder than you need for one livewell, add a tee or valve to control pump output.

The way my live well is setup in my boat is that it has a drain in the bottom with a removable plug. It fills from an adjustable filler pipe (there's a valve to regulate the amount of flow) and there is an overflow should the tank get too full.

IF yours is setup in a similar manner, I wouldn't see an issue using a T to fill both. Just be mindful that both would be full of water when doing so unless you used some sort of manual valve to direct which livewell was being fed.

That should be the livewell for the "upfront" fisherman. Mine had 2 pumps, but don't see why you couldn't run both with the same pump, just know that you will have water in both.

As for shoulders ... fell in the summer and pain would not quit. Finally went to doc and he sent to ortho ... MRI said partially torn rotator and labrum. Cortisone shot did wonders ... also helped back and knee pain for 3 weeks.

I bought a 1979 terry bass boat and the back middle stringer at transom is rotten. I cut out the plywood on top of stringers by going through the two rear hatches to get to the stringers. Is there a good way to repair the stringer without taking the back top off boat off we’re the hatches are.

Buy a good sawsall and carbide blades. And 5 gal of poly resin and lots of cloth... Cut cap off... Or sell boat to someone who likes to work and has room to do job of re-glassing inside boat in a dry environment. Good luck!
