I recently bought a 1988 2.3L omc cobra 17.5 Capri
Took it out on its maiden voyage 2 weeks back able to unload boat and off l went taking it easy 1st timer here, so ran it for about 35 40min and decided to stop and sit in the sun and enjoy my new boat. So after 20min or so decided l was going to get more familiar with steering and handling
Huh went to start nothing
Panic was able to drift into a residential dock and tie up l looked through everything l knew what to look for but didn't see anything abnormal. Any way getting to the point l replaced all of the electrical components solinoids battery starter
Thought l had a good pic of everything before disassemble well some how I don't have the wiring right I can start the motor I can manually cross connect the green wire to make tilt up and blue for down but when I reconnect them to the posts I believe they belong to I get no trim from the throttle somebody please help me I'm going crazy

Hi,
Are you talking about the connections on the solenoids? I have easy access ATM so I can get pics easily.

You read that if l jump the blue wire to a hot lead trim will go down and viceversa

Also problems with the tilt n trim system can be isolated to the wiring inside the remote control, these wire can break because they are moving all the time where they come out of the housing and travel up inside the handle.

Do you have a incandescent test light? I don't like led ones because they will light up with almost no current and give false indications. Assuming when you jump fat blue or green you hear pump run and drive move...
1. Check big incoming 12v for power
2. Jump Incoming power to the small blue connection.should hear click and motor start.
3. Same test for little green. If you hear clicks but no motor put test light on fat wire that goes to pump and verify voltage. If you get clicks but no power out ... bad solenoid
If it don't clicks at all .... bad solenoid. If you can drive pump with jumper wires on small solenoid post check that you are getting power from tilt switch when button is pushed

Blue = sky = up
Green = grass = down
