Re: hull extension in progress with picks

I Know very well what his plan for the wheel is but he still needs to buy one so he can use the hub from it. He will need a few try's to get a wheel built that will look good and function like it needs to. The snows commin and it's time to get that thing floating and all the systems sorted out and he still has 6 or 8 months to get the lipstick just right. GITERRRDONE!!!

I'm no expert but I think that steering wheel needs aleast one layer of glass on it. Wouldn't want that thing rotting off :rolleyes:

OOOps I dont know if you have found your hole saw yet but I wanted to remind you that you have Princess auto up there ands they will have a cheap Chinese set I would bet with a 4" in it :D. I wouldnt plan to use the Chinese 4" again after cutting 4 holes in your transom but it should last that long LOL.

Aha the internet rules again :D $15.00 for the whole holesaw set :D including the 4" :D.

Last I heard he cut the 2 holes to big and was going to try and fix them but he's been really quiet lately. I hope he was able to fix them and not have to rebuild the dash panel.

Re: hull extension in progress with picks

I just read this post over the past three days, my bosses would kill me if they knew what I was doing at work!

Amazing project and amazing patience and amazing dedication. Very impressive. I have posted a few times on this site recently about a console redo on my 1968 Whaler Montauk and erikgreen suggested I read this thread. Gave me lots of ideas, very helpful. I will probably start my work this november-ish and hope to have it ready for June! (Boating season at 68`N is rather short...and can be darned cold!). I'll be reviewing this thread lots while doing the work and will be posting my own.

Can't wait to see your boat done! Keep up the great work!

Headhunter, on the first page of this thread there is a guide as to where in the thread you can locate info on the different stages of the build. I think the info on peanut butter is in posts 55 and 81 but you should double check.

OK two days have gone by since the last post. What happened to his computer to keep him out this long? And does he need anything to get it back up and running?

Re: hull extension in progress with picks

I just read the entire post. Great job on everything. I have learned so much and been motivated with my transom and floor replacement. There is nothing i can say for encouragement that has not been said already but this is the best thread I have ever seen. I hope you get the computer back up and running soon and hope to read more. I have a few questions for you but I will wait till you are back on till I ask.
