Re: hull extension in progress with picks
Re: hull extension in progress with picks
well guys........what can i say?
i checked the boat after 48 hours cure on the paint.
it will allways need another coat.....even after 20 coats ....it will still need another.....
i looked at the back where the water dripped on it.....and that section does need another coat....but...it can wait....it doesnt look too bad....some drips....some scarring where the plastic hit the wet paint.
but all in all.....its not too bad....so im leaving it for another day.
in the mean time i opened up another box of roundtuits.
i putzed around with the hull.....doing things that needed to be done,.......
then i grabbed the transom bell and housing.....and did the gimball berring.....and the bellows....and the water inlett pipe.....and the exaust bellows.....
i had a lot of trouble doing the exhaust bellows......what a pita.
the bellows needs a special tool......one that will spread the bellows and at the same time....go around the forward reverse shaft.....and at the same time....pull the bellows on to the flange.....
i didnt have one of those tools......
after several un kind words.....and making a special tool....its on.....done.....
i still need to re mount it....as i just bolted it on to the transom to use the transom as an anvil fot taking out thoe old gimbal berring.
but all i have to do now is to install the trim sensors.
but having said all that......the project has moved to another landmark level.....final assembly of the exterior.....
tommorow....the boat will see the light of day for the first time in months....as i pull the boat out of the shop and pressure wash all the sanding dust out of it.......then its back in for assembly.....
no quote on a time line......lol
cheers
