Looks like there are a few of us near the end that are slowed down by various things that add up to life. Wood, I put LED's on my trailer 8 years ago and never had a second of trouble with them, and they are good & bright too. You'll love 'em!! After all, wouldn't you rather be seen and not get run into than be retro and have some dope crash into the Flamingo? Good luck getting back at it.

Well, another weekend the "LIFE" took over. No progress on the Boat or Trailer. Looks like I'm just gunna resign myself to the spring. Oh well that will let me get the seats and all the little fine details done. At least it all stuff that can be done during the Cold weather. No painting or stuff like that. Thanks for the encouragement!!!

I'm not so hopeful myself for this year any more. I'd thought I could try her out on the river nearby even if I didn't get to the lake, but now it looks as though that's all still closed to navigation from the flooding we had from Irene. :( The boat launch is still all covered with logs, debris and mud & I haven't seen any boats out.

I got mine in- I decided that the final details like trim, some of the electrical, etc could wait 'till winter- I can do THAT in the cold, but boating is more fun while it's still warm!!

Nice work on the trailer- It's similar, if not identical, to my Gator-

They are nice... The 'tilt' feature makes it super easy to launch/retrieve from shallow ramps, and even the beach!

I am Bummed today!!! A friend of mine that I have worked with on a daily basis, passed away yesterday. She leaves behind twin 13yr old girls and a 16 yr old son and a Husband of 30 yrs. She was always asking about my boat and going out to iBoats and looking at the progress I was making and telling me to hurry up so I could take her for a ride. I didn't make it! Just 4 short months ago she went to the Dr. for what she thought was Gall Bladder issues and discovered she had Advanced Colon Cancer. Being 61 this has really made me stop and think about how important each day is and I just wanted to pass it along to all of my iBoating friends that We should all ENJOY the time we have working on these old boats and having fun on the water with friends and family. You never know when it can all be cut short. So... Today take the time to Stop and Smell the Roses!!!!

Sorry for your loss WOG. Thanks for reminding us that every day is a gift. Thank God for the great people on this site site and for the boats, which help keep us so close to our family and friends.

Very sorry to hear this....It's especially hard when youngsters are involved. Friends like that are precious. You just never know when the familiar will be taken away, so yes it's best to take account and be thankful for what you have than always be thinking about what you want/don't have. Agree, enjoy every day as best you can, thanks for sharing this.

WOG
Sorry to hear about your friend. I am not to far behind you in age. I have lost several family members and friends through out my life.
It is a real blessing to be able to get up each and every morning and be able to enjoy our lives and everyone in them. All of our lives or numbered from the very first breath we take and we should all be thankful each day we have here.

Sorry to hear about that Wood. I had a client who went in for a check up and heart scan a few weeks ago....they ended up keeping him and he had a tipple by-pass. Makes you think for sure.

Well, got to work on the trailer some. Wheels painted, hub caps polished, brackets and rollers mounted. Got to finish making the Walk Board and Paint and Carpet the Bunks and do the wiring. Hopefully next weekend she'll be done and ready to mount the boat. Plan on painting the bunks and the Walk Board with the Valspar and Hardener. Will let you know my opinion on how it goes down.

Pics will be forthcoming.

Glad you got a chance to get back at it. Seems to be that time of year when the work gets spotty, I know mine has. The weather's not cooperating so much!! Did get my new fuel pump in yesterday's Fedex delivery though, so I'm spurred on again.

About time you actually got some work done instead of spending all your time on the forums :)

We had a cold spell here, too- So I was 'stalled' today as well... I haven't done much in a few days, other than clean out the basement shop... Moved one boat out, and one in... I've got TWO trailers to restore now, after you finish yours, come paint mine!!

Amen Wood! On that same day I was in the hospital having my 3rd angioplasty in 10 yrs. done. Two more for a total of eight stents.
And was also informed there is another artery with 50% blockage that I will now have to watch. People wonder why I switched to a roller trailer. Just can't winch up onto a tilt bunk trailer any more. Every day I wake I feel lucky! Changes ones attitude for sure.

Now let's see the pictures of that trailer!
