    Retirement in another Country

Canadian Health care is top notch (people & expertise) but because of our universal system (taxpayer funded) wait times can be an issue - In popular tourist destinations and larger cities there are lots of private healthcare providers but it's pay to play, not sure how the system works for...

    Daily Driver

I really loved my 02 Mx5 - 6MT and very fun to drive. I got greedy and have always wanted an E46 M3 so when one came available that wasn't silver/white/black I sold the Miata and bought the M3 - Bad move. I had the Miata for 2 summers (convertible season here is May-October) and had zero issues...

Just Another Day on the Water

I'm guessing the battery was new.... if not I'm more impressed by the continued operation of a 54 year old battery. We don't have any access to tow service on our lake... so far this year I've towed 4 boats back to dock... maybe I should be charging $190 a pop

    2005 regal commodore 2750 stringer/transom material?

Should be a sticker right on the window of the boat that says "Regal Lifetime Hull Warranty" with contact info.... My 2002 Regal 2650 LSC had the sticker in the corner of the window with a 1-800 # to call for warranty concerns

    Questions regarding tow vehicle

I airbag'd my Tundra for $900CAD. It has no impact on capacities but it does help to level the load and makes towing more comfortable. My silverado was a 2wd LS model and the rear end sagged with little weight

    Questions regarding tow vehicle

I had a silverado 1500 with the 5.3, it was an LS model and although the official tow capacity was 9500lbs I could not comfortably put more than 500lbs of tongue weight on it. I ended up with a leveling/stabalizer hitch to tow my 6000lb travel trailer and got pricing on airbags and adding...

    Time for a ‘new’ boat?

I guess geography plays a role.... Here in Alberta most middle class families run a 3/4 or 1 ton truck as well as a "commuter" vehicle. Lots of 5th wheels and trailers around here that require a 15-20K tow capacity. Myself I don't need a trailer for in season use because I have a private dock...

    Time for a ‘new’ boat?

With all the documented work you have done I would think that yours would be top of anyone's list even if there were 100 available. If it was a PC instead of an SS I'd be on my way down from Canada with a trailer to get it......

    Michigans Inland Waterway

OK that makes sense.... I typically cruise at around 1600 RPM which in my twin 4.3 Formula translates to about 6.3 knm

    Michigans Inland Waterway

What would be the total distance of your cruise to rack up $4300 in fuel? I've been looking into the great lakes area and all the inland waterways around there including the interior of the great loop from Chicago to the gulf. We're currently discussing selling everything off (house/vehicles...

    Boat Names

1970's Edson 18' closed bow dark brown we called "Mud Duck" later became known as "Dirt Pig" coined by a friends wife who could never remember the name. 1993 Fourwinns 238 Vista - "Boat" 2002 Regal 2650 LSC - "Cash-de-fish-in sea" 2001 Formula 21 PC - "Private Party" & the dingy is "Patio" The...

Bladders insert for fuel tank leak

This is my plan for my leaking water tank, but I would not consider this method for a fuel tank. Seeing how much structural work is involved with a fuel tank replacement I'd likely mothball the old tank and and install a new tank on my generator pad ( I guess it depends on how much room you...

Play in steering wheel and outdrive

Every boat I've ever owned "wanders" at slow speeds. The Regal fast track hull was the worst but even the Four Winns & Formula deep hulls wander. I had my gimbel, u-jointsand steering cables replaced and it was a little better but still had almost an inch play in the wheel/drive and at trolling...

Hello, New member. Assistance Please and tks

You can never know for sure but I know location often makes for a tough sell for some folks. My current boat would have sold in under an hour if it was in Edmonton/Calgary/Vancouver but it was way up in Grimshaw AB - 5.5 hours out of Edmonton, Even then I had my name on it within 3 hours of...

"New Posts" button at bottom of page

It's really not that bad, no real "special permission" is required simply a request to access.... but many of the members over there know one another personally and sled/quad/camp together and personal conversations, disputes, opinions etc... are just kept out of the pubic eye. It's the...

"New Posts" button at bottom of page

Hey folks, I'm new here and love the site - I do belong to other powersports sites that use the Vbulletin or similar format. Just curious if anyone has ever looked into putting a "New Post" button at the bottom of the page within a thread. I find it odd that one has to scroll back up to the top...
