    Honda BF115 seized from sitting

I bought a "seized" Honda 90 a couple years back. Did just that, removed the lower unit, and WALLLA!! Top end was free just like that. Lower was toast though. Full of water, not a drop of oil anywhere..... Much easier dealing with that situation.... Power heads are a PIA to replace/rebuild!

changing from 2.07 to 2.38 gear ratio on a new motor

A 90 4 stroke is a LOT of weight on the back of a 21'. Even the newest pontoons with the larger diameter pontoons. You may not care for how it squats the back of that boat. The fact it's rated for a 90 does NOT assure it's going to float level. Why the change in gear ratios? What are you hoping...

    Tritoon vs Deck boat

Older boat, so sort of, I guess. Though it works pretty good for our purposes.

    Tritoon vs Deck boat

I converted from a '22 'toon to an outboard powered '22 deck boat when it was taking forever to reach our destinations. Neither are/were particularly fun in a chop. From a room to move around and seating standpoint, we're generally seated when underway, no real advantage going either way. Both...

Help with very old Pontoon repair

No real helpful ideas I'm afraid, but I would NOT use foam! That's just going to make a sad situation worse....

2014 Yamaha 115hp not enough amps to start motor

I just had to replace the battery cables on a 2010 Honda 90 for the same problem. The cable had corroded internally, in the middle of the cable, leaving no visual clues there was an issue. It wasn't until I spotted a wisp of smoke coming from the very hot cable that it dawned on me what was...

Been here since '78. I'm not going anywhere. My biggest hope is that I don't have to get legal....

    Lake Association

A "lake association" is not an HOA. At least not the one I'm familiar with. Our "lake association" did a survey asking what the residents wanted to see improved. From that, they then came up with a list of mysterious projects (no specifics), mysterious costs arrived at in a mysterious manner...

    Yes, until it doesn't...... ;<)

Lake boat sizes: Is there a trailerable sweet spot?

For frequent trailering, my vote would be 20-21' max. Anything bigger starts getting heavy quickly.

    Honda 40, no telltale flow

Matt, I've never had one leak after a careful inspection and cleaning - and the rare need to send the head out to have a shallow pit removed. Anything is possible of course, but I wouldn't be too concerned about the potential warpage. These guys have proven to be really sturdy IMHO.

First Boat -- Needs Repairs; Havent Even Drove it Since Signing

I'd be ticked off, concerned the boat wasn't checked out any better than it was prior to the sale. Then again, I do ALL of my own work, to avoid frustrating situations just like this one. I hate marinas.... Still, if the boat checks out well, and was purchased for a fair price, I'd go ahead...

    Need advice about bimini

Yup, been here. There's always some sort of compromise when working on a project like that one. What about going with a longer bimini (maybe a 10')?

Fuel tank help 2011 Suntracker Tritoon 25 foot Party Barge xp3

I'm thinking my boat would likely be strapped down. Not hard. Even angle aluminum bolted to the pod on each side would hold the tank securely.

    Slop in steering tube connection

Probably an issue with the tilt tube install. Betting there's an excess amount of tilt tube sticking out the other side. Hopefully it's not bound up, and you can back the nut off on the other side enough allow the tube to be pulled through to the side you need the extra threads.

    Choke issue's Honda BF90

Think of the solenoid that operates the choke as a light bulb. When you push in on the switch, power (12 volts) goes to the solenoid, causing it to close. USUALLY, I've found the switch itself to be the issue. You would have to use a test light or voltmeter to confirm.

    Choke issue's Honda BF90

The only way to start that motor is generally going to require the use of the choke. If the electric choke built into the control isn't working, go back to the front of the motor and identify the manual choke, and use that. There's a switch built into the control that can be erratic. You heard...
