Evinrude 15 1992 carburetor cover change

The carb kits I've purchased for plastic topped carbs come with multiple (3) different gaskets. It's possible you used the wrong gasket. I have never done any filling of holes, and believe that is probably a mistake. Sorry.

1967 Evinrude 18hp Fastwin with 25hp Carb: Trouble starting, staying running

I would try to find an 18hp carb. A '67 sister motor with a damaged lower unit, for example. Plan on adding a carb kit and thorough soaking and cleaning.

    How to decarb an outboard?

Like "runnin' in the rain." Think I would drop the brake fluid, and make sure only to lightly mist at the intake.

    Constant high pitch alarm?

The first thing I would want is to figure out if it is running hot -- got a hint at the t-stat housing, but should invest in an infrared tester when you can. Tops of heads should run around 140F or so. 165F is overheating. Yes to your question re. the air pocket. That's why the bulletin...

    E15REOD idle

The high speed jet is underneath the plug/nut. The jet needs to be squeaky clean.

1988 Johnson 28hp only starting for a bit when wires are switched

Need to take off the FLYWHEEL for that with the correct puller, and check the key in the crankshaft. The key is a half-moon shaped piece -- could be sheared or missing. If the flywheel key shaft is not correctly lined up with the crankshaft key/keyshaft, timing is affected.

1988 Johnson 28hp only starting for a bit when wires are switched

https://www.marineengine.com/parts/johnson-evinrude-parts.php?year=1988&hp=28&model=J28ESLCCR&manufacturer=Johnson&section=CARBURETOR On this carb, the needle up on top (idle screw) may need adjustment. Turn clockwise until lightly seated, then open c.clockwise 1 1/2 turns. See if the engine...

    1969 evinrude 25 horse 2 stroke won’t start

Ah, but it can when the tension is off the puller. (enough to bruise a knuckle, anyway.) And yes, I did mean the flywheel.

    1969 evinrude 25 horse 2 stroke won’t start

I think most guys substitute stainless steel bolts and nuts and washers of the same size, but that is the right puller. Keep everything level vertically, and turn down the center shaft. Loosen the crankshaft nut but leave it in place at the top of the shaft to prevent damage. Crank the puller...

Fuel mux for 1960 Evinrude 10HP

Don't confuse the gas to oil ratio with air mix (air to fuel). Run with the factory-specified gas/oil ratio, and adjust the air mix as lean (fuel) as required for smooth running. The engine will tell you if it is too lean (backfire at the shaft outlet -- "lean sneeze") -- or stalling.
