    Control rod seal and copper ring for drive shaft and boot

    The missing ring?? No biggie, just lube the splines and slide the boot over them. No grease on top of the shaft. There's a slotted screw on the side of the nosecone, DON'T remove as it's a pivot point and can be a B%$#H to replace. If you do remove it then the seals a lot easier to get at.

    Boot and retainer not really needed. BUT if you run in salt water it's possible the corrosion caused by the salt water can make the connection a permanent one.

    The driveshaft, after water pump removal should pull out. Then same procedure, pry or use the seal removal tool. Both methods can score the soft alum. so be very careful.

    I fill from the fill and vent holes. That way there's for sure enough oil in there.

    First you should tell us what the problem is your having? Never really run across a problem with the dog bone. They can get clogged with carbon pieces. But since the advent of TCW-3 oils the carbon problems is not much of a problem.

    Need help pulling gear carrier on Force 125 hp

    Post pics of both sides of the dog and the mating surface on the gears. Did you have trouble jumping out of gear or a banging under load? See how sharp the edges are? This is a new one.
