    (Chrysler 25 HP 1975) Outboard Motor 257HA

Spark tester: then if you get spark clean and seal the old ones. That plastic dip, spray work well. I use shrink tube and liquid electric tape for the wires and buy new cable ends

    Force 70 hp questions.

There's no gravity feed on any Chrysler/Force motor that has a fuel pump. The smaller 4.5-7hp some are gravity fed. You'll know them by the tank on top of the motor.

    Questions about trims

I'd bet a new motor is in order. Take the plug off the reservoir and see what the oil looks like?? If it looks good then you might just need an electric motor and not the whole thing. You have a 2 part system: top is the electric motor, bottom is the pump and housing.

1989 85hp removed lower gear pivot screw

Your chances of that screw just sliding back in are slim to NONE!! You'll probably need to disassemble it and then it will go back in. When I started working on outboards back in 1986 I did that. But realized it wasn't a drain plug and put the screw right back in, didn't hurt anything but my...

    1994 mercury force 70hp

There's "air screws" and there's an "idle screw". The air screw(ususlly on the top of the carb) is adjusted to make the motor run smooth.. While it's doing that it also mixes the air fuel ratio. The idle screw assembly is usually on the towershaft. U-tube Videos look for them, They can be...

    1994 mercury force 70hp

You do the starting fluid test?? Start motor, spray SF around the intake side of the motor, that includes the base of the carb and the 3 port covers, under the base of the intake, basically that whole side of the motor. If spraying makes the motor cough, stutter, backfire??? then it's sucking air...

    Force 70 hp questions.

You won't see any amount of fuel. You should feel a click if you activate the key when you push it in. The primer only shoots a small amount of fuel when activated then it just sets there. The older style solenoid choke works as long as the keys held in. Where the primer has to be pushed in...

    Lovely but What?

The ignition switch OEM is over $100 They used 2, one is the long barrel, the other is the short. A better pic will help. Sometimes the starter will have the part numer on it and doing some research you can figure out the rest of the info you need. Bayliner is still selling/making boats. If...

    Adding Tilt/Trim system 89 bayliner

The harness and relays is so the electric motor doesn't get the wires too hot. And yes hook the leads to the battery and see if it works?? 99% of the time T@T failure is due to the bad connection on the relays. Take them apart and clean the contacts making sure they make good contact. A simple...

    Stuck check valve…

The best bet is upgrade to a newer pump. The older pump/valves were pressed in. They hardly ever went bad. One time in 40 years did I see a valve go bad. It fell apart but still worked.

    Lovely but What?

That boat , worked on hundreds of them, is a Bayliner and that model was made in a factory in Washington state. The paint job on the motor and hull shows it's a 1987, the hull ID # probably shows it too. The motor should have a sticker on the transom clamp that has the model and serial number...

    Here's one for the books!!

2014 Yam115 4stroke. The aftermarket Sierra developed a pin hole leak and saturated the lower half of the motor, including the starter. Went to change the filter and clean the oil. Took the starter and all the electrical connections apart and reassembled everything. Went to start it and huge...

    Force 70 hp questions.

Force didn't always have a freeze plug. Look on the starter for the year? if it hasn't been changed it should be on there. ALso there might be a foundry stamp under the pack/coil assy. and under the bottom carb. Round circle with the year in the center. The T@T wires were/are solid blue(up) and...
