Chrysler 55 one cylinder occasionally fires

Jimmbo, I agree completely, I use a torque wrench to tighten lug nuts. Just about everytime I do a brake job I have to use a hot wrench to loosen the lugs that were installed by an impact wrench. No way would the people get them off with just a 4 way.

Get an impact wrench. Then you won't need to hold the flywheel.

    1997 Force 90hp Stiff steering

Sometimes the kingpin area needs a couple of hours of heat and add more grease. Thin grease like White Lithium While the bushing will melt and seize it takes a lot of heat to do that. In some cases the mid section needs a couple of zerks added to the top and bottom. The zerks in there already...

    50 hp force no speed

They will actually run fairly good on one cyl. My neighbor had a 15hp Mercury, complained it didn't run as good as it should. Took the cover off and found the bottom spark plug lead laying in the bottom of the cowl. He said he'd checked everything and couldn't find anything. Held the boat for 3...

    87 Force 125 tilt/trim

What color is your motor? The white stopped in 86. the 87 was blue. The 87 should have the relays under the hood, unless it was ordered without T@T. I never saw a 1987/125+ without T@T However some 85's came without it. The older 1986 and past had the switch on the dash with #10 wires that...

1990 Force 120HP trim and tilt not keeping motor up no leaks

The dog looks fine. The following is from memory, that might not be completely correct. The 1990 lower unit. On top of the gear housing is some letters, this denotes the gear set needed to rebuild the lower. I think there can be 4-5 different sets, A-D I don't think any special tools are needed...

    Pulses per Rev

You don't have to worry so much about pulses on an outboard. The stators can come with 6 to 20 poles. Take off the flywheel and count the lugs. The Forces usually had 20 poles. The dial on the back usually reads 1 thru 4 (cylinders) Set yours at 2 cyl. and the poles take care of themselves.
