    Another Bravo 3 shift issue

lol I thought the pinned trunion from your old cable didn't need adjustment? Kinda think based on this, and your apprehension to merely pulling the drive and digging not much further into the shift components and running the drive for another season you should save up for a new drive or fix it...

    Another Bravo 3 shift issue

Yeah, that's not checking the adjustment. You're assuming that 1. The old cable was adjusted properly and 2. The old cable didn't have wear. You should verify the shift adjustment prior to guessing your next move, it's part of proper troubleshooting. Most likely yes, there is an issue in the...

    Mercruiser 3.0 PCM-09 Code 3050

Based on your posted info a visual inspection of the catalyst would be my next move Remove the catalyst housing and look

    496mag no start issue.

PCM needs to see 300 rpm at cranking to start/run the engine I'd swap cps from good running engine to troubleshoot

    Mercruiser 3.0 PCM-09 Code 3050

Pre O2 and post O2 readings are the same. With having both O2 sensors replaced recently my wag is the catalyst has failed. Without the catalyst the pre/post O2 numbers would be the same, like your situation. Time to check your catalyst

    Spark plug heat range

Not super focused but based on color looks good on the tang/electrode. Nice and tan, even with unburnt deposits nearer the threads is okay Keep in mind, carbureted + ford = loves fuel.

MerCruiser 3.0 - loud metal noise when in gear

Flange on the right side of pic is broken off. That is the sealing surface for the u joint bellows. I've never seen one repaired, only choice is to r and r gimbal housing which requires engine removal

    Shift Cable Replacement

Yes, but ime it's much easier to just remove the bell housing and replace all components w/oem. Peace of mind knowing all is brand new factory, ymmv

    Power Trim Control Panel

Most likely you have a copy of the Mercruiser owners manual that sometimes comes with the boat when new. This is not a factory service manual and only has limited info about possible equipment installed and limited troubleshooting/service info. Yes, they are limited and really only give the...

    Power Trim Control Panel

So what's the problem? Not sure why you've posted a pic of the old style 3 button dash mounted trim/tilt control seeing as how you don't have it and most likely never did. It's quite obvious someone has replaced the original remote control with an updated oem control that includes the...

gen1 upper gears for ratio same as gen2?

Kinda contradictory, you ask if alpha one gears will fit in a gen 2 but state you have an alpha one upper on an mc1 lower? Either way, no the gear sets for mc1/R/MR/Alpha One are not the same as gen 2 gears. FYI part numbers you have attached from epc are not the same. 24A2 and 25A3...

    1987 CHRIS CRAFT AMEROSPORT 284

Gonna guess these are sterndrives If so, your initial interest should focus on the drive/transom assy. Once sound you can acclimate yourself to engines, house systems and specifications

    At a loss

That's a lot Probably the right direction. Best to start with a full tune up. Cap/rotor, plugs, wires, fuel filters.....surprised to see all the components replaced prior to your suspicion of the routine maintenance ignition components. Would also be curious to see fuel pressures with/without...

Replacing 5.0 oil pan, gasket, bolts

Sage advice Will add that a dab of rtv is required in the corners of the pan/block mating areas at timing cover and rms keeper

    EST1 Open

Maybe, but could be there is a connection issue somewhere. Either a harness plug/receptacle, ground, or wire issue in the harness. Or, the ecm has failed internally. Not likely but possible At this point your best interest is to inspect connections (especially those related to ignition)...

    Mercruiser 233 Overheating--Out of Ideas

Yep, really. 20 months covering two seasons. Doesn't matter how many run hours you have, in fact many believe not using the product causes premature failure. Looking again at the recent pics it also appears no gasket sealer was used on the base gasket which is oem protocol. Nothing you have...
