Stingray 208 water in the engine room

If you're having issues with the battery discharging.... 1. Find the problem and fix it. 2. Install an onboard battery charger and keep it connected to shore power when you're not at the boat. Having an inoperable bilge pump while slipped is just asking for trouble.

Resto info 1976 Fiberform bowrider Johnson 85 power tilt

Before launching to see if it floats....fill those holes on the left side of the transom with some 4200 or equivalent sealent. Not sillycone! Might have been from some sort of ladder given the spacing. Letting water in through those holes is generally not a wise move.

Advice on a 4 winns restoration

PT, the last time I bought it, was soaking wet. No way resin is sticking to it let alone drying out in a week's time. Literally the PT solution was dripping out of it.

Advice on a 4 winns restoration

Lots of rebuilds are done with ACX exterior grade plywood. Stringers, transom, floors, etc. That's generally dry as a bone where I get mine.

    Buying a 210s limited

If you were to go to a boat show and compare the Tahoe fit/finish to other boats there you'd find they're towards the bottom of the heap. Anything you generally can find at a big box sporting goods store (Tahoe, Suntracker, etc) is going to be bottom of the heap so to speak. I'd consider them...

Does anyone have experience with “Race only” push to start system install,

Hey those stickers are good for easily 10HP :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

    Bought a rotted boat

I wouldn't trust it knowing the structural components are suspect - calm lake or not. One good wake could be all it needs to get the boat to say adios amigos. The stringers under your floor probably gave up the ghost long before the transom did. There are plenty of people here that, just like...

Does anyone have experience with “Race only” push to start system install,

I get the "cool" factor and all but boats have had ignition switches forever. Why are we looking to reinvent the wheel so to speak? Is there a problem you're trying to fix?? **I agree that panel looks incredibly cheap and I'd be very leery of the price its being sold at. Probably cheapest parts...

    Causes for concern?

That chip under the drain plug could be from the boat hitting something - rock pile maybe?? Gelcoat repair kit probably fixes that BUT I'd be crawling underneath to make sure there aren't any other issues. Bellows is a MUST replace....unless you planned on buying a submarine.

BRP reveals a new style of outboard, Rotax powered, horizontal crankshaft....

I could see it in another market....repowering I/O's. Ditch that archaic stringer drive with Ford ahead of it for a new compact motor and gain all that engine bay space for whatever. IF, and it's a mighty big IF, it can stay around. Johnson/Evinrude/BRP has a nasty habit of disappearing. That's...

    Water in my bilge

Static....sitting anchored on your trailer, not running. On my FourWinns, the bellows were loose and only leaked water when running. Pretty much what you described.....ran it for a few hours and upon retrieval the bilge pump would kick in and give a hell of a shower as I pulled the boat up the...

    Wiring a fish finder

Mine's powered off an always on circuit (unless I throw the main battery switch - which I do when its on the trailer). IF a single fish finder is draining your starting battery where it won't start your motor you have a weak battery that probably needs replacing. I've run mine for hours on end...

    08 Mustang Advice

Rebuild doesn't have a warranty? Any speed / motor shops around that you could shop a rebuild? Most reputable rebuild shops have warranties on the motor.

BRP reveals a new style of outboard, Rotax powered, horizontal crankshaft....

I think we're a ways off from that for a number of reasons. First and foremost is lack of charging and the additional weight from the battery pack. Then limited run time.

New to me Livingston not performing at its best

Going off what I'm finding elsewhere...max load (including people, gear, and motor) is 900lbs. So overloading it isn't helping anything. I'd confirm the total load and see if you can shed some excess weight..... As for the motor, it looks like you'd need to drop the pitch some to get it into...

    Towing and Cockpit cover concerns?

Going the distance you are, I would encourage you to have the boat shrink wrapped instead of relying on an unknown cover. Make sure the person/company doing the work knows its for transport purposes, not storage.

    Draining Mystery Water

Your camera catches the lower part of your outboard bracket. There's rust stains, presumably from your mounting bolts on the transom. It's visible at the very beginning of your video. The comment about your transom is that if its flexing it will let water in as its not sealing properly. Looks...

    USB charger

You're all missing the point here. This isn't what I could do as options....read my opening remarks. I wanted to know experience, good or bad, with the option I listed. Cigarette port adapters have to be stored somewhere. I have 3 boys. It's going overboard at some point then what? Kinda like...

BRP reveals a new style of outboard, Rotax powered, horizontal crankshaft....

Yes, the people we bought the MFG in my signature from were water skiing behind it. And that's with burnt pistons (per the marina that did some maintenance for us). But that was a bare bones, no frills, awfully light boat....nothing like the floating sofa boats these days which require a lot...

BRP reveals a new style of outboard, Rotax powered, horizontal crankshaft....

Well it would need to be pushing more than 150 ponies as that's going to be anemic on a 21-22' fiberglass deck boat with the options I would need to have.
