BRP reveals a new style of outboard, Rotax powered, horizontal crankshaft....

It's still vaporware until you can lay hands on it. My local marinas who sell either brand show nothing in stock and nothing on order. They do show other brands with 2023 model year as on order. IF I was guessing, based off the videos, BRP got an earful on the poor performance and is reworking...

Joined the Starmada. kind of unexpectedly

IF it were me, I'd be tempted to swap to the 3.0 and use the controls/wiring/gauges out of the Wellcraft as a complete package instead of trying to splice in to whatever is in the Smokercraft. That's assuming the 3.0 is in good shape - compression test.

    1984 sylvan sportster 18’ i/o

Going off what my uncle's Sylvan has, you're probably pretty close now to what was there originally....well beyond the artificial turf floor. I'd wager it was brown indoor/outdoor carpet at one point, probably worn through and replaced due to age. That's probably as far as I'd go as these...

Help! Water between hull and deck??

Answered my own question here... https://www.alumacraft.com/us/en/owner-zone/warranty.html Now what tearing into the floor during the warranty period is going to do I cannot say.

Help! Water between hull and deck??

While you have the floor up and some of the foam out, I'd be tempted to launch it to see if I can find where the water is coming in. As a 4 year old boat probably shouldn't have waterlogged foam just yet. I know its a bit late as we didn't have the year the boat was made but what is the...

Approximate towing weight 1998 Sunbird 17

I would suggest a stroll through the resto forum right here on iboats. Look for the ones that are along the lines of "I have a soft spot in the floor and..." It'll illustrate that foam does suck up a bunch of water and the results. Hence waterlogged foam. An example...

Approximate towing weight 1998 Sunbird 17

I think you may be confused over the term waterlogged. Over time, the foam in the boat absorbs and retains moisture which can add several hundred pounds of weight to a boat. Generally due to either poor storage, neglect, or just plain bad craftsmanship by the manufacturer. Doesn't necessarily...

    Newbie alert. Tilt/trim question Help!

You sure about that? Because I don't see anything in those pics that shows its a manual tilt engine. I don't see a catch to lock onto that trim pin. Seems very, very odd that trim cylinders would be in a manual tilt engine...at least from my experience.

Approximate towing weight 1998 Sunbird 17

That's a manufacturer's published weight or off a weight scale? Cause if its the manufacturer's published weight...that's dry. No batteries, gas, or other equipment - fire extinguishers, life jackets, anchors, ropes, paddles, etc. All that "stuff" weighs something - there isn't a free ride...

    Potential project boat

Boat's not legal to launch - registration expired last year. That's what the 21 on the blue sticker next to the NY registration numbers indicates. If you want to get exact....May of 2021. With Salmon season in full swing, I wouldn't risk it as LEO's are gonna be out. I also don't see a current...

    Potential project boat

It'll definitely be a project as I see things that seem to indicate its a total gut. I'd look very closely at those stringers and decide if you want to be on the water in 2024 as I don't see this as a simple over the winter-be on the water in spring 2023 job. All the stuff on the outside of the...

    Transom savers

My uncle's 16' Starcraft had a 9.9HP Rude on the back. When he traveled he didn't use a transom saver...ever. Know what, boat was fine after years and years of doing this. Know why? He took the motor off the transom and tossed it in the boat.

    Caravelle i-toon Razor

What are you looking for as you may have to search for the manufacturer of the item itself? Such as the radio...Fusion, Clarion, JBL, JVC, Other....may have to go direct to them to find an operator manual. Motor you want the service manual from Suzuki. Can also try contacting Caravelle direct...

Going Bravo Dual Prop on a Yamaha 250 2 Stroke?

You might get more traction if this was in the Yamaha outboard section - message a mod and they can move it. That being said, I don't see anything on Yamaha's website offering dual prop on their outboards. I don't think this is going to be anywhere near as easy as simply dropping the outboard...

Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II Dies at 96

I was just reading her quick bio on CNN.... part of the civilian forces during WWII driving/repairing supply trucks in England of all things. Never would have thought that. Lost a heck of a leader and person today.

Need help identifying 69 fiberglass boat

Yep. I'd pop the cone off and see what you need shearpin wise. Have a few spares and some ss cotter pins. Might, might, want to see if you can source a spare cone nut as well....for that "oh carp" moment when it falls to the bottom of the lake. At least, that'd be my luck.

    2022 NFL/NCAAF News and Nonsense

I say it every year....the Jills....oh wait, the Bills, yeah that's them, will do JUST enough to get everyone's hopes up then flame out in spectacular fashion missing out on yet another bowl. Having lived through Wide Right and all the subsequent bs afterwards - (2) rebuilding decades worth -...

Need help identifying 69 fiberglass boat
