    Sound deadening

There wasn't any in my FourWinns. In my Chap, there's egg crate looking stuff glued to the underside of the engine hatch and along both jump seat backs. I used some Gorrilla Glue spray adhesive to reattach a piece last year. In my classic car, I have foil backed, no-name stuff from JC Whitney...

    Problems with oversized boat motor

Stern sitting lower/much lower due to weight, possibly swamping it. Could flip if you goose the throttle too much. Inspections may cause your pocket book to be lighter/much lighter due to ticket. Insurance will have a field day with you if you're in an accident. I wouldn't do it, I'd sell it...

Dual Console boats 22-24 feet in length

I'd look at Grady White: https://www.gradywhite.com/models/dual-consoles/freedom-235/ But that's just me.

Easier time putting on the trailer

I get wet because I have to. Bunk trailer, non-adjustable. Fenders are under water but the last 1/4 of the bunk is not. Self centers each and every time. There isn't a way to retrieve my boat staying dry - won't happen, I'll snap the gears in the winch first. Ask me how I know this. So beware...

Motor guide nose cone dripping water

I'd probably try the 2 part one from Harbor Freight that comes in a stick that you cut into a piece which you then roll together on a surface to combine the two parts. More likely not to run inside the housing and gum up the works internally. FWIW...I have a 55lb MotorGuide 12v on my Chap and...

Just bought boat, most gauges inoperable

On the tach, you may try tapping on the gauge itself while underway. The FourWinns gauge was "sticky" and a tap would get it working right. Might squeeze you by for a season if funding is tight.

    contraptions

I have an unfinished 14' x 14' Lionel layout in the basement. Started at onset of pandemic, still needs finishing. It's back burnered due to the aquarium moves going on right now. All freshwater...125, (2) 75, (2) 55, 29, (2) 10, and a 110 pond out on the patio. We're not talking about "Daddy's...

Easier time putting on the trailer

Iboats doesn't sell these, I checked... https://www.outdoorshopping.com/os/Winch-Hook-Attaching-Device-Captainhook-Winchhook-Atchdvce.html Google will be your friend in finding it cheaper. When loading, I hand my wife the dock lines and she (and the boys) walk the boat up the trailer for me...

    Best Brand Of Storage Cover???

Pretty sure mine is a Carver...Sunbrella material, trailerable with strap kit. I alternate between it and my Chap snap-on bow/cockpit covers during summer months. Winter - Shrinkwrap.

How to tow a 9.9 Johnson

Then put a carpet down. Easy peasy. Let's not over think this.

    1968 22ft Crichfield

I dunno...I kinda like the lines and given its a 22' boat I see the potential to be a nice fishing rig. The only things really dating the boat visually from the front are the angular windshield and the front railing - easy upgrades down the road. (There I was positive) The caveat being it would...

How to tow a 9.9 Johnson

Here's a radical idea....take it off the transom and put it in the boat. My uncle towed his 16' Sylvan with a Rude 9.9 that way literally for years. No ill effects doing it.

It won't dry out. It will cause other things to rot. Need to remove, inspect other structural components - stringers, transom, etc. Probably more damage lurking than you realize.

    Regal rush jet boat help

That's one of those Merc/Force boats from the 90's that were oh so popular and generally underpowered.

    Raising the Transom?!

Need a side shot so we can see the transom and the outboard. Generally, if the anti-cav plate is in line with the keel of the boat you should be fine.

Seeking advice on seemingly large hull/structural repair! Help please! 1979 Marquis Catalina.

I did this eons ago, mid-80's, in my parent's driveway. Stone and grass. It can be done. Rolled the old Tee-Nee trailer out from under the MFG, had a bent axle, and rolled in the new trailer. What we did to make sure the boat didn't move anywhere during the process, was to tie a rope from the...

Seeking advice on seemingly large hull/structural repair! Help please! 1979 Marquis Catalina.

Not my first choice for flooring - have the same material out in our shop for assembly area dividers and it looks terrible to work with. A cheap alternative would be the rolls of indoor/outdoor carpet you can find at local home improvement stores. Next option would be the cheapo faux teak (peel...

Seeking advice on seemingly large hull/structural repair! Help please! 1979 Marquis Catalina.

Given it's got at least (1) deck over, I would be surprised if the stringers and transom were intact. A safe bet is they are both mulch in need of replacement. Quick way to determine the soundness of both is to grab a 1/4" drill, and as low as you can from the inside of the boat, sample them...
