    Damaged lower DP-SM pinion.

After replacing prop shaft seals and vac & pressure testing I was browsing the photos I had taken whilst re-assembling the lower end. Below is a picture of my lower pinion showing a damaged tooth  so the whole lot needs to be removed and a new pinion fitted. I had no idea that there was...

Digital trim gauge constantly reading -9 degrees

My trim sender stopped working shortly before the end of last season, a visual inspection showed that one of the wires had broken close to the sender. New sender was ordered to be installed whilst I had the outdrive off for new seals. I tested the new 3 wire sender and it reads correctly as...

Engine High Temp and Low Oil Pressure Alarm Does Not Work At All

As far as I can make out the connections for the high oil/temp alarms feed into the ECU on wires that are coded tan/black. The switched supply to the horn is also tan/black and from my diagrams is a single wire common to both alarms. On both of my diagrams it shows the tan/black wire to be on...

5.0Gi running cool fixed, thank you.

A big thank you to boatguya1 who set me in the right direction with his post "that there might be debris in the bypass channel of the the thermostat housing". I found several bits of impeller vanes in the bypass which could only be shifted with a stiff but bendable length of wire. My engine now...

Stainless Duo props getting eaten away

Re: Stainless Duo props getting eaten away Ok Don I understand where you are coming from. Perhaps I kept my text a bit short. I have had to replace both my trim/tilt rams because of pitting on the rods, these again have no electrical continuity with the leg. My paddle wheel log has had several...

Stainless Duo props getting eaten away

I am on my third set of Duo props, galvanic corrosion I belive is the cause. I suspect there is no continuity between the hub and blades because of the plastic shear protection, leaving the blades to act as an anode! Has anybody found a solution to this problem? Volvo Penta replaced my first...
