Re: What do you pull your boat with?

I appreciate that and I can tell QC is a very knowledgable man as well. You've got the nice one, 5.9 24v common rail, it'd be perfect if it was a CC SWB 6spd truck :) (at least for me lol)

But heck, it has 4 doors, under-seat storage in the back, a bed slide, topper cap to protect the goods and 225,000 miles all by me. :)

I would love a 2nd gen 4wd short bed manual for a spare.

Did you mean QC and not CC?

QC in the beginning for our lovely moderator and CC at the end for crew cab. Ya the storage and space in that truck is amazing. I just installed a PAC Brake on a 2006 CC LWB SRW Ram the other day, sounds just like your truck!

I tow mine about 80% of the time with my wife's 2008 Kia Sorento. 3.3L V6 4x4. Does a fantastic job with it.

The other 20% is with my 1996 Ford Bronco 5.8L. My wife prefers driving the Kia back from the ramp if I've had a few beers so we take that most of the time.

I pull our boat with a Ford E350 Super Duty. My wife and I have 6 kids so the van is needed to just haul the family, but works well with the boat, also;).

Re: What do you pull your boat with?

I pull my '82 Century 2000 Sport LX (18 foot, 2000 lbs) with a '02 Quad Cab Dakota (4.7L V8, 2wd). The boat and trailer probably weigh in around 3000 lbs when all loaded up but the little Dakota handles it no problem. I typically turn off overdrive when going down the highway.

I have had the boat for a year now and have been in and out of at least a dozen different boat ramps. I have never had any issues pulling the boat out even though the truck is 2 wheel drive. From my understanding it has a locking rear differential which helps with traction at the ramp. Earlier this Spring I had actually gone off the side edge of a ramp with the trailer (the dock was at least 2 foot away from the edge of the underwater portion of the ramp and I didn't notice this until the trailer slammed to the ground) but luckily I was able to pull the trailer back up on to the upper part of the ramp with the boat still on it.

97' Ford F150 2WD 4.2L V6 5speed it's a bit slow going on some of the hills around Taylorsville here in Kentucky, but she gets the job done (with little to no burning clutch smell hauling her back out)
Good thing autozone puts lifetime warranties on the clutch :D

Pulls a 17.5 ft cheetah I/O w/gear
