I would start by doing a check on the voltage going into the port power pack, if it's low there could be a bad ground or a bad wire. If there's none then start tracing it back to the source.

A ton accomplished just today.

First we cut the Ski Locker Cover.

Then we cut the front bow support piece.

We cut and mocked up our stern section in its entirety.

If you are ever in doubt of the strength of the floors you built. But your toddler and your 9 year old in the boat they will treat it like a trampoline, I am proud to report NO FLEX.

For a moment I thought "that is the BIGGEST transom I've EVER seen!" Then I realised it's the wall :D

Bump:
[h=3]Starcraft Members Map[/h]
Ok, there are 3 SOTY 2013 polls live, w/ a pix of each nominee on the thread that has them in the poll, there's a master list (w/ hot links to the boat threads) at the beginning of each thread, and a cross link to the other 2 poll threads.

It is noted repeatedly to vote only once in 1 poll. The results are public so it'll be obvious if someone votes more then once.

The 3 poll threads:
1st HALF of the 14 SOTY 2103 Nominees, (6 of 14)please only vote once

2nd group of SOTY 2013 nominees (next 4 of 14)

Last group of 4 nominees for SOTY 2013, (last 4 of 14)

Don't forget to vote

Happy new year.

Re: Time to get started on the starcraft resto.

A little Update.

All the plywood now has 5 coats of spar on it and is almost ready to be mounted.

I purchased more grey vinyl so that I could do the consoles.

JoAnn fabrics is the absolute best. Marine Vinyl $17.99 per yard then use the 40% off coupon good quality vinyl for $10.80 per yard.

The white vinyl in mine came from Great Lakes Skipper, and the grey vinyl came from Joann Fabrics, I will say over and over again the quality of the JoAnn stuff far surpasses the quality of the GLS stuff.

Hey Sig - Does JoAnn carry the vinyl in the stores or have a ship to store option? I'm being too lazy to look. :embarassed:

They carry the vinyl in the stores, just go online and print the 40% off coupon. You can sometimes find 50% off as well.

Honestly I am usually to lazy to even bother printing the coupon I pull it up on my smart phone before I walk in and they get the code off of my phone.

Hmmm I might have a shot at winning that one. I did something a little different today gonna post a pic to have the mob tell me what they think as I am unsure if I like it.

I decided I wanted to do something a little different for my Ski Locker Door kind of want everyone's opinion.

Yes the Ski Locker door does sit flush not sure why it doesn't look like it in the pics.

also started cutting vinyl for the consoles.

Is that floor vinyl or upholstery vinyl? As long as it's durable. I kinda like it.

I like the look of it, but I'd probably cast around the guys finishing projects that have used Nautolex for the deck, see if any have the little piece you'd need.

Budski & at least 2 others recently used floor vinyl on their rigs.

Marine upholstery vinyl might tend to be slick when wet ~~ great under butt, perhaps not great underfoot.

But I do like the contrasting look.

Re: Time to get started on the starcraft resto.

That was kind of my though JB I am a little worried about it. Its actually the same seat upholstery, I have stretched it to the point it should have torn several times, and I just can't make it tear, I kind of like the contrasting look. I may try it for a season or two if I don't like it, it will be easy enough to change plus I like that it matches the upholstery. I honestly believe the strenght of it won't be a problem at all.

Also one more opinion from everyone if you have a sec.

So far this is my favorite pic of the restoration.

I think the reason why is the way the sunlight is gleaming off of the bow area makes the bow look white in contrast to the dark rest of the boat.

I am thinking of finishing that area either painting or vinyl in white (most likely vinyl because it doesn't get as hot as painted aluminum) What do you all think should I break from the black and grey and contrast with some white?

Again, I like the white look up there. And vinyl for sure, too much bare skin hitting painted AL will bring ouches.
