Now boatnut, that Merc tower you got is definitely way cool. However, I think you'd be foolhardy to remove any running JohnnyRude V4's just to put that on. The towers are a good bit more temperamental from what I understand.

I agree, I had excellent luck with my 110 'rude. I guess if I find one with a good running Johnnyrude I'll just have to pick up another to put the merc on :D It's a win win.

Yah, I know you are willing to travel but they start to get out of the "nearly free" range once you tack on the fuel bill:)

Yah, My theory is that in January when people get credit card bills from holiday shopping they will be getting rid of them cheaper :D

Drew, you have a serious case of MBS . You're going to end up on Dr. Phil!

She is actually very understanding of my mbs. It keeps me out of trouble and helps me deal with my depression.

Talked to the guy who had the 18' with 115 'rude this morning. He's sposed to be sending me some pics. From the sounds of it it's a Holiday. One downside is he says it's a 77 or 78 and he doesn't have a title for it.

Alright I posted this one up in the other thread but.........I now have some ideas going through my head. For awhile now I have been wanting to see someone take an IO and make it an OB, but not on a bracket. Here's my thnking, cut down the transom to accept the outboard, add a knee brace and fab up a splashwell. My dad does sheet metal work for a living so fabbing the splashwell wouldn't be that difficult. It would be one of those measure a thousand times and cut once

The crux of that idear would certainly be the splashwell. But, with dad being a pro metal bender, piece of cake!:D

He can make almost anything. They also have a laser table for cutting sheet metal. Would a knee brace be necessary? It wouldn't be hard to fab up I'm just thinking they have a pretty solid transom to begin with. The knee brace basically distributes power from the transom to the hull correct?

I was thinkng three :D I did talk to the guy this morning and seems really nice. I think I could probably get it for 300 and I figured about 150 for fuel, a full days trip. It would be an "IO Holiday turned OB Super Sport" as I would want to open up the bow as well.

The gentlemen sent me some more pics of the one in Okleehoma, I'll try to get them posted up tomorrow. He said he couldn't find the build tag but I'm pretty sure it's a Holiday. He said it's 18' 7" Long and 7' across the bow. I'm still going to keep my eye out for an OB one but this one looks like a good canidate for a conversion.

Free glassers have great windshields! ;)

I'm lucky, I know of a dump that let me dump a whole glasser - the windshield and motor :)

I have been thinking about this one but was curious what everyone thought it was worth. I know about a year ago I saw one of those motors on ebay go for 1200. It has been listed for awhile and I thought about offering 1000. (after inspecting the motor and boat of course)
