I'll keep trying, they pop up every once in awhile. I'm not in a big rush, it's to cold to go outside to work on them anyway. A high of 16 today  I havn't got a call back on that Islander yet, hopefully by the end of the day.

Heck my nova had a cellphone picture for an unknown starcraft boat, I could hardly make it out; worth a look I figured ;)

Re: The search for a free (or nearly free) Starcraft!

Ok, so I thought I'd post up on this thread again. I have updated my search request on post #1. Looking for a replacement for the Jet Star SC. I am in noooooo rush at all. Anyway, looking for another Jet Star. I have really come to appreciate that boat platform, pretty much just the right size for what I need (well, except for that closed bow thing). Nice shallow draft, still small for river fishing, yet big enough to get the family aboard for a fun ride. I do like the 16' SS a lot but it is a much bigger boat in many ways, bigger than I need really. The advantage of the SS is I don't have to cut it up and rebuild (huge time saver).

Requirement is that it should be free or nearly free;):)

Re: The search for a free (or nearly free) Starcraft!

OK, so this thread might need to be brought up again:horn::horn:

Why?

Well, #1, for me, since both the 16' Sea Nymph and the 14' Mirro Craft got swapped out, I need a replacement. #2, winter is a great time to score a deal! #3 It's stinkin cold and snowy, no boating, so how about boat shopping?

This next boat for me will be a full on fishing rig. With the 261 being my big water fishing boat and the Islander serving as the do everything boat I need another for small inland lakes and thin water.

So here's what I'm after:

I'd really like to get my hands on a 15 or 16 foot hull. 18 feet is too big and 14 footers are tiller row boats. I'd prefer a shallow V as I really don't need the deep V for where I'll take this boat and I'd like to avoid the bigger engine they require.

So, boats like the SS, Holiday and Jupiter I'd like to avoid, but if one came along for the "free or nearly free" price point, well......

But, stuff like the 15' Jet Star, 16' Mariner, 15' Star Trek, that'd be the ticket:thumb:

In my travels over the Christmas break I may have spotted something in a boat bone yard, maybe........

Since all the swap activity going on around your boat yard, does this a boat need to come w/ or w/ out an OB?

If memory serves, you might have some kicker &/or tiller motors sitting around, but nothing above 35hp, remote steer, correct?

I saw a $250 w/ trailer, no OB, last weekend, that was in MI somewhere. I don't think it was @CL.....

Yah, to get that one I'd have to "disappear" for a day.

#1 People (my wife) would notice I'm gone. And then I'd get pounded.

#2 I'm a pretty good negotiator but not a magician. I might be able to kind of "hide" for a day during the summer months. But to disappear, during the school year, yah, I'm not that good.

This one is a little closer...

Starcraft 14 ft Runabout

...just not quite into that "freeish" range.
