This ^^^ Mercruiser 898 (what the sticker shows) is a 305 2bbl. If they were anything like the 305 truck engine I'd much rather have the 250 l6.
IIRC the Mercruiser 888 was the Ford 302

he loves that boat....but those two hummingbirds will set you back $5K alone.....and a 2 year old merc 225 will set you back $10K easily maybe more. still I don't see $30K worth of rig left

That holiday has some structual issues in the bow, it looks like the center support has been removed and the dash has sunk in the middle.

Your chance to own a classic 1968 Starcraft with loads of potential. Her sides are straight with only a couple of very minor dings. The rivets are all tight and it showed no sings of leaking. She needs attention in the aft floor area, showing a soft spot or two. One would probably be best replacing the entire 48 year old floor. She's generously rated for 120hp and 1900 lbs, however still light enough to plane with 2 adults and kid with a 35 4 stroke. Steering wheel, brackety, steering cable, boat cover, spare tire, and original trailer are included with the sale.

I bought this boat around 6 years ago and took it down to the bare hull and reworked absolutely EVERYTHING. There is literally nothing on this boat that has not been upgraded or re-finished.

All rivets re-bucked and hull sealed and painted.
Does not leak a drop.
Completely new floor and transom fiberglassed and coated with epoxy.

Have Bimini and cover to go with it also.

1982 Johnson Triple 70hp outboard.
Power tilt/trim
Boat will run 38-40 mph on gps.
Motor was refreshed with all maintenance items... Carbs rebuilt, impeller, thermostat, plugs, fuel lines, etc...

All new sassafras dash and side boards made from original templates. All new Painless circuit breaker/fuse panel with all functions and lights.

This boat doesn't need a thing except someone to care for her as we have. Bought a new truck and have built a new house and just don't have time to enjoy it.

Tilt trailer has new led lights, tires, rollers, pads, bearings and springs.
