Really makes you wonder what some people are thinking.

well.... from a guy that uses his boat mostly in winter in the northeast, I can say that when you are moving along at speed the wind in your face is extremely brutal but the windshield forces the air up and quite a bit over your head even when you are looking over the top of the windshield. I know because my little windscreen gets clouded over even though its clear plastic, and I look over the top of it and the wind flows up over my head and not in my face!!!...he may just be experiencing the same thing...

If I owned a barn or warehouse I would have a problem

Seems like a good price for an Islander- http://albany.craigslist.org/boa/5570757261.html

Cool old duratech for a fair price - http://binghamton.craigslist.org/boa/5613865461.html

I know its sacrilegious to post a wood boat here, but I'll make the exception for this one - http://albany.craigslist.org/boa/5586423303.html

Cool old aerocraft begging for some attention - http://hudsonvalley.craigslist.org/boa/5531009096.html

I wouldn't touch that Islander, you can see all the external patches on the transom, so it must have a major corrosion problem:eek:

I guess I should be more specific. Road trip scheduled for August or September to pick up the Yellow Submarine.

Turns out I already knew of this boat. I communicated with the original owner a couple of years ago, but at that time, it had no trailer, so I passed. It sold to someone who found a trailer for it. That owner moved, so sold it again to the current owner who then moved to B.C. The current owner is on here somewhere. I've got a deposit down on it, and the sale will be completed once we out the title issues, as the boat and trailer never formally changed hands from the original owners. Fortunately, the current owner has all the paperwork.

Kendallville, IN is less than 40 miles from Goshen.

I'll guess new as in never used, not brand new. I'm wondering if that may be a factory V5 prototype hull and ended up in the scrap heap? The topsides sort of have the same tapered look as the gangster Islanders.

I am guessing that may be a mid 80s islander.... that flat sided hull came outy with the v5's in 78... and they stayed when the dropped the long V's that ran up under the standard V.....25 ft....looks like a gorgeous empty canvas!!!

that's a deal that doesn't come by very often.....
