Re: St. Augustine in May/June: UPDATED: Now With Dates!

I think Sasto's will be in good hands. I'm also a Paramedic and the Admiral is an ER nurse. Maybe what we really need is a bartender...

ONLY 2 MORE DAYS TILL DEPARTURE!!!

We've really got a lot in common... We already knew that we're both firefighters and paramedics. now we know that both of our wives are nurses. My wife is a nurse by trade; but has been a "Stay at Home Mom" since My first son was born. Imagine that... A Firefighter Paramedic marries an ER Nurse... Will the wonders never cease???;)

Well worth the good time you will have, Fireman. The last time I was in Daytona I was single, and damn near had a heart attack!

Worth every minute!!!

Doc gave me a perscription for Sam Adams, and a fat cigar, veritas honus, and I can't wait to get started. Kick back? Me? Sure, no problems here! I have a meeting Wednesday morning for a couple hours and plan on checking into the Inn sometime mid afternoon. See ya there......my brother!

Sam Adams and meetings don't fare well in the same same paragraph... You could give someone the wrong idea!!!:p

Unless you've already made other arrangements with the Bayfront Inn, I believe check in is 1600hrs. My family and I will be in St Augustine in the morning. Just give me a call when you start getting close.

Bartender? You do know your stuff, Fireman! That's what the Dr. ordered. See ya in St. Augustine, Bubba! (a term us captains use around here to describe a loyal mariner that is like ourselves and can be counted on if needed. We have a whole group of bubbas.)

Bubba is a really big South Georgia thing. It's a very common term of endearment which has not been polluted nor corrupted... Unlike the infamous, "Bless your heart!";)

Me too!

I can't wait to see how many pages this thread goes, since it's 23 pages before the trip has even started!!!

Everyone be safe and have fun and don't forget all of us "followers" who are anxiously awaiting pics. (No matter how disgusting).

Thank you for the well wishes Swabber!!! Funny, I"ve never really looked at the "views" of this thread, and compared that number to the "replies". I'll check that out when I'm done posting... I'd expected a lot more people to start posting even if they weren't going to be there. I'm really glad you and others have posted, though. This has been a terrific ride... It may just turn into a perpetual thread. After all, Fireman does make this trip every year!!!

Half day at the shop for me today. Wrapping up little jobs that need to get out. Hopefully the SeaDoo will be ready as well. Inflated and cleaned the Party Island last night. Also gathering a few fishing rigs as well. Charging the cameras, scratching things off of our lists, etc. Quick boat cleanup tomorrow, put the eisenglass curtains up, and we'lll be dropping lines by 2:00 if all goes well.

We will try to post as the trip progresses and I have everyones number in my phone. Looking forward to meeting all of you very soon. Best of luck on your trips. See y'all soon!!

ONLY 1 DAY TILL DEPARTURE!

My family and I will be getting on the road sometime around 0300hrs to get to St Augustine between 0700 and 0800hrs. I thought you'd be leaving before us. I guess the river trip is quicker for you than I thought... Have a safe and enjoyable voyage, Fireman. Funny... "Less than two weeks:D:D" has now become...

NOT LONG AFTER MIDNIGHT!!!
I don't know, marcoalza, I've called every marine supply shop around with no luck yet. I'm not giving up!

Looks like you will have some decent weather for your trip, Fireman. Good luck, enjoy yourself, and keep the dirty side down. We will see you wherever. Feel free to contact me if there is anything you need. I'll be there for ya!

Don't worry about a thing, sasto... I've got that covered. When I was thirteen, my first dive buddy, Robert, taught me how to make it!!!

Don't forget to take some Prop Wash just in case.
You never know when it'll come in handy.

Thanks for the reminder, marco, I make my own!!!;)

What about here Sasto? (with Van The Man)

I now feel really left out of all this. How sad am I? I'm trawling through the best thread ever wishing, just wishing...........and counting the days with you!!

I really hope you all have a really good time and I can't wait to hear and see all about it.

Marco, maybe one day it will happen... That would be some adventure!!! As far as it is... It's not out of the question.

Re: St. Augustine in May/June: UPDATED: Now With Dates!

I have been watching this thread since day one. This is better than anything on TV. I am anxiously waiting for the photos. Hope everyone has a safe trip. Have enough fun for those of us that can not be there. I don?t think that will be an issue for yall.

Kailec, you're ABSOLUTEly right!!! No issue... Now that I'm actually thinking about how many people are and will be thinking about us, wishing us well, and wishing they could be with us, the very least I can promise you, is toasts to those iboaters who couldn't be with us in person. You'll be with us in spirit, and I promise you this this, glasses/bottles will be raised to everyone who couldn't make it in person.

Don't want to give everyone the wrong idea... This is going to be a family oriented get together. There will be a bunch of children. This will not be a weekend of debouchery... Although there may need to be a little debouching after hours...:facepalm:

We are leaving Wednesday (tomorrow!) instead of Thursday. I wanted to be at the Jax Landings by Thrusday sunset and it would have been pushing it leaving Thrus morning. So, the Admiral and I figured that we would have everything ready to go by Wed afternoon, so why not drop dock lines then and just go? We can put a solid 4-5 hours under the boat before docking for the night. That would leave us that much more time to get to the Landings and not have to worry about weather, currents, timetables, etc.

We'll be leaving there Friday morning about 0700, so we should meet up somewhere near the junction of the SJR & the ICW. I give you a call around 0830. Will you have a VHF on? Or would cell px be easier for you? Does your boat have a name?

Alright, Fireman, I really hate making excuses, but My new radio, SS antenna, and SS mount were supposed to be brought to me today; along with help installing my CD stereo system and help with trouble shooting my new Neutra-Salt system which doesn't seem to be working... I was also supposed to get my horn working today and that didn't happen either... So to answer both of your questions, call me on my cell phone, and I still havn't come up with a suitable name for my boat yet. Maybe some inspiration will come in St Augustine!!! What a slacker I can be...

Anyway, it's now 0017hrs. Take off in less than 3 hours!!!:D

I'll give you a call tomorrow (later today, it's after midnight:))

May you meet with fair winds and good times throughout your voyage.

We're almost there!!!

Give me a call after you get settled in, nlain. We should be there Thursday around 1500hrs and a cold Sam Adams by 1600hrs. I've been too dry for too long! Looking foreward to meeting you and the family.:D

Gonna catch those young'uns some fish and hopefully get them hooked on fishing. I can only imagine how I would have turned out if it were not for my love of fishing and golfing as a teenager. I'm bad enough as it is!

We will be driving down on Friday, hoping to arrive early afternoon, wife may have to go to Savannah Friday morning before we leave, don't know yet, if she does then it will probably be close to noon before we leave, if not then we may get out a little earlier. I am so ready for this break. :D

Oh, my daughter had to open her mouth so the trip is no longer a surprise, I should have known better than to tell her. :D She just can't keep a secret.

Just two more reasons I have to go through with this trip, could not stand the hurt feelings from the boys. :D

And..........we're not going to hear a word from any of them for a few days.

But then, look out. The thread will probably get closed because of the non-family friendly pics/video posted on this family friendly site.:eek::D
