Re: St. Augustine in May/June: UPDATED: Now With Dates!
We've really got a lot in common... We already knew that we're both firefighters and paramedics. now we know that both of our wives are nurses. My wife is a nurse by trade; but has been a "Stay at Home Mom" since My first son was born. Imagine that... A Firefighter Paramedic marries an ER Nurse... Will the wonders never cease???
Bubba is a really big South Georgia thing. It's a very common term of endearment which has not been polluted nor corrupted... Unlike the infamous, "Bless your heart!"
Thank you for the well wishes Swabber!!! Funny, I"ve never really looked at the "views" of this thread, and compared that number to the "replies". I'll check that out when I'm done posting... I'd expected a lot more people to start posting even if they weren't going to be there. I'm really glad you and others have posted, though. This has been a terrific ride... It may just turn into a perpetual thread. After all, Fireman does make this trip every year!!!
My family and I will be getting on the road sometime around 0300hrs to get to St Augustine between 0700 and 0800hrs. I thought you'd be leaving before us. I guess the river trip is quicker for you than I thought... Have a safe and enjoyable voyage, Fireman. Funny... "Less than two weeks" has now become...
Don't worry about a thing, sasto... I've got that covered. When I was thirteen, my first dive buddy, Robert, taught me how to make it!!!
Thanks for the reminder, marco, I make my own!!!
Marco, maybe one day it will happen... That would be some adventure!!! As far as it is... It's not out of the question.
I think Sasto's will be in good hands. I'm also a Paramedic and the Admiral is an ER nurse. Maybe what we really need is a bartender...
ONLY 2 MORE DAYS TILL DEPARTURE!!!

Well worth the good time you will have, Fireman. The last time I was in Daytona I was single, and damn near had a heart attack!
Worth every minute!!!
Doc gave me a perscription for Sam Adams, and a fat cigar, veritas honus, and I can't wait to get started. Kick back? Me? Sure, no problems here! I have a meeting Wednesday morning for a couple hours and plan on checking into the Inn sometime mid afternoon. See ya there......my brother!
Sam Adams and meetings don't fare well in the same same paragraph... You could give someone the wrong idea!!!
Unless you've already made other arrangements with the Bayfront Inn, I believe check in is 1600hrs. My family and I will be in St Augustine in the morning. Just give me a call when you start getting close.
Bartender? You do know your stuff, Fireman! That's what the Dr. ordered. See ya in St. Augustine, Bubba! (a term us captains use around here to describe a loyal mariner that is like ourselves and can be counted on if needed. We have a whole group of bubbas.)
Bubba is a really big South Georgia thing. It's a very common term of endearment which has not been polluted nor corrupted... Unlike the infamous, "Bless your heart!"
Me too!
I can't wait to see how many pages this thread goes, since it's 23 pages before the trip has even started!!!
Everyone be safe and have fun and don't forget all of us "followers" who are anxiously awaiting pics. (No matter how disgusting).

Half day at the shop for me today. Wrapping up little jobs that need to get out. Hopefully the SeaDoo will be ready as well. Inflated and cleaned the Party Island last night. Also gathering a few fishing rigs as well. Charging the cameras, scratching things off of our lists, etc. Quick boat cleanup tomorrow, put the eisenglass curtains up, and we'lll be dropping lines by 2:00 if all goes well.
We will try to post as the trip progresses and I have everyones number in my phone. Looking forward to meeting all of you very soon. Best of luck on your trips. See y'all soon!!

NOT LONG AFTER MIDNIGHT!!!
I don't know, marcoalza, I've called every marine supply shop around with no luck yet. I'm not giving up!
Looks like you will have some decent weather for your trip, Fireman. Good luck, enjoy yourself, and keep the dirty side down. We will see you wherever. Feel free to contact me if there is anything you need. I'll be there for ya!

Don't forget to take some Prop Wash just in case.
You never know when it'll come in handy.
Thanks for the reminder, marco, I make my own!!!
What about here Sasto? (with Van The Man)
I now feel really left out of all this. How sad am I? I'm trawling through the best thread ever wishing, just wishing...........and counting the days with you!!
I really hope you all have a really good time and I can't wait to hear and see all about it.
