hey. honestly I'm a 23 year old guy who just himself bought a 1978 mark twain. I wish the guy I bought it from had did the maintanance you did. or even let me take her out first. spent 600 bucks just getting her to run. you did a fair and right job. a test drive shows you trusted her in running and not leaving you stranded. I run the heck out of my boat, tubing and such... and I know if I blow the engine its my own stupid fault. first time out I floored it first thing with my friends... thats what us kids do... now if you give him some money back... well let me know when you are going to sell your new boat, cuz I want you as my previous owner... lol

congrats CB! this is my first post, but i have been following it for a couple of months.

obviously you had all the correct paperwork/bill of sale, and all of this still occured.

so how do we avoid somthing like this in the future? any other paperwork we can fill out?

Congratulations CB! I am sure glad this is over for you. Nice to to see a slap of reality to the morons of the world that good people don't take this sort of thing lying down. I know we all were hating this saga for you but I'm glad you duked it out with these lowlifes. Now GO BOATING and forget them!

Terrible that you had to wait this long for all this mess. Hopefully we all have learned a lesson from this and will get a bill of sale or contract around when selling off old boats. Glad to see it worked out in the end for you. Have fun in that new rig you got.

My god I spent hours reading this thread hopeing it would go the way it did. CONGRATS on the case. Sorry to hear of all the headache you had to go thru. Im in NW Ga about 30 min S of Tenn. When I finish restoring my boat maybe we can get the families together for a day at the lake. Oh, love the sailboat there. Im not real up on the nautical terms but I know the basic terms at least..LOL.

Absolutely, send me a PM! We were out on the lake today, whew! 95 degrees, at least the wind was blowing. Found a nice cove to anchor, have lunch and a relaxing swim.....

Hope everyone enjoyed their day on the lake/river/bay/ocean/gulf too

I too am a lurker. Congrats. I am sure glad that it went the right way. The problem is this is going to happen again,.... how will it turn out next time? What can we do as boaters to keep this from happening again? Can we set up a thread for specific instruction to selling a watercraft? Everyone here knows from the story that you were not in the wrong. But the judges and lawyers can go either way. Again congratulations CB.
