For all those following this thread, I shall now expose you to my misery. There is another thread going on in the Restoration forum about a guy with a newish (under warranty) Tahoe with hull damage. The thread details his tribulations with Bass Pro Shop and Tracker Marine - check it out. Then you TOO can be addicted to two threads!

I know i'm new to the forum, but I couldn't help but read this. I am a firm believer of what goes around comes around. If the kid did you wrong....one way or another he will have it coming. I advise you polish the brass, clean your decks and bring in your anchor it's time to move on. Some people live for conflict and getting over on others.

I only read the first page.

I agree, you are not responsible. Unless, you knew the motor was wearing out and ready to through a rod. Then it would have been your responsibility to disclose that information.

"as is, no warranty" means nothing if you lie or trying to hide facts about a sale.

Just read the whole thread now.

Can't wait until June.

Big congrats to you for teaching and leading your son, and to your son for completing his college edjumakation. Like Sarge asked, when and where does Grad School start???? (Just had old school friends of my mom's over and they were telling us about their youngest - just turned 40 and still in school. They don't think he will ever stop - much easier than a real job! :D )

Re: sold a boat and it busted!

I worked at a Bayliner dealership. They sold a 19 ft runnabout with a 125 Force. The guy had it for about 3-4 weeks and called and said the motor wouldn't start,Was told to bring it in. I checked it out and there was a can of starting fluid in the motor well and he had a 23pitch chopper prop on it.
Not what we sold him.
He swears he wasn't running it hard.He pulled it with a Camaro that looked like a race car.
I told the boss to send him packin, but he had me rebuild it.
This time there was NO warranty.
I saw the boat about 6-7 weeks later at another repair shop, blown motor again.
AS is means AS IS..Jerry

Threads like this never end well for the audience. Usually they end with a
statement like:

Due to legal reasons, I am not allowed to discuss the outcome of the case.
All I can say is that the matter is settled.

So, prepare for disappointment...
