Hope all are good Mike! Looks like you are getting some crazy weather over there. Was going to call you earlier but knew you were at Church. :joyous:

This morning made 4 cit/fits for the ply build up. Probably could have done six to build up the middle ok. But still happy with it.
All went on wet on wet. Nice temps today so letting the nature cure it out. I'll come back with some more just to bring it up a leetle more says I!

We just got back from a weekend up in Wisconsin Dells. Drove up Friday AM in an absolute downpour - took an extra hour to get there and had the same crap coming home today. It's a nightmare outside right now. At least Saturday and Sunday were beautiful. Stayed in a nice cabin on a lake and got in some fishing, horse riding, hiking, sight seeing and a lot of good eating lol. The Admiral out fished me, catching 4 white bass and a fat crappie while I caught 3 crappie. Was fun, but the boat will have to wait for better weather. The next two weeks have mostly rain in the forecast here.

see what happens when you get that deck down...You have more room to put things on the deck that gets in your way.

Went out and sanded down the repair area. Turned out pretty nice. Will add some fairing eventually. Want to start the starboard side and get that behind me.
What I won't do on the other side is overlap/exagerate the glass overlay on the exisitng glass so heavili and far.

Oh yea...camera battery went dead.

Started the starboard side today/yesterday. Confined area so pics are kinda goofy and same as the ones I posted on port side.
So here is a question I have as I'll be moving shortly to taking my Frankenstein deck components to task with glass.
Current joining is with pb. Sanding is sanding and needs to be cleaned up.
I was thinking as I start to blend prior to glass if it was ok to use fairing prior to glassing to smooth out areas that need work. With fairing I see it used primarily after glassing to prep for paint. The advantage I see is the fairing is easier to sand and blend than pb.
Looking for help from the universe of the most excellents.
TY.

Hmmm... Ok well my thoughts are as long as it’s not applied super thick it would be ok to do that ..
I am certainly not a professional here so it’s purely what rattling around in the limited space between my ears ...
Thinking flat horizontal well secured .. ehhh what’s the worst could happen ?

Yea I hear ya Sam. I'll still be using balloons and pb for most areas, fair, glass then fiar then paint.
Bunch of goodies showed up yesterday. So plenty to do.

KC i was wondering the same. About using fairing compound to get the surface smooth first then glass. Could you use a premix item like this? I know you are using eeeepoxy but they have the expoxy version i think. It contains chopped fibers so this would be good for structure. I am assuming this is similar to making PB

Thanks demarko210 ,
I think I got too overthinking it. Gonna run with the balloons as fairing, they just arrived. Then glass. I've seen/read some premade pastes can go 1/2" thick. That gets me a little spooked though.
I'll rough it with the spheres.

Banner day says I!
Got some wood installed on starboard side/gunnel.
Installed some wood for gunnel
Installed 2# foam in multiple areas.
Saw Flotation Foam Solutions doing the job it was exactly built for!
Happy guy!

There's a significant difference in Structural filler and Fairing material. Fairing is light and easily sanded. Structural PB as we like to call it, is NOT easily sanded. Different ingredients for both. MicroBallons work great with epoxy and Glass Bubbles work well with both Epoxy and Poly.
