Rough call for me on the amounts. I so stopped counting along tome ago.
2-5 gal buckets cabosil
6 rolls of 1700 x 15 feet
20 gals epoxy. Then note depending on season the formula mixes were different. Right now I'm using 4-1 uscomposites. Sets up faster in cooler weather. Typically use 3-1 ratio during the summer.
Lots of 4" and 6" tiype nape rollers, not foam.
Chip brusheds out the ***
Qt cups and gal cups for mix. Always recycle them for the next part.
My suggestion would be to not buy all that at once. Get the basic amounts and see how you're moving along. It only takes a week to keep the stock on board. Once you get the feel for the EEEPPPOOXXY and related materials just order more.

Super strong scissors to cut the glass.

Funny you asked cause on another note I was going to ask the moderators if we were able to load up an active XL spreadsheet where guys can suggests tools for this work in regards to the different stages of the rehap.
Oh yea...PPE gear. A must! And Beer if you like it. :watermelon: There is a scientific relationship to fiberglass and beer. :joyous:

Seriously to buy all now may save a schekle but the learning curve is what to use to get the feel for the next few orders. start with a 3 gal kit and a roll of glass. Not sure where you are yet in demo but demo can sure take up time.

Hey KC, I was wondering if you knew how much epoxy and 1700 you've used so far? Being as our boats are similar I was hoping to get a rough idea about how much to order for the first big order.

The boat is looking awesome man and your glass work really looks professionally done and super high quality!

Thank you. Let the games begin and get your thread up. Can't wait to see and try to help out.

Got back in it and started danding off the dead edges of the glass work prior. Then just kept on sanding the craps that fall on the floor that I didn't scoop up at the times prior. Also sanded down the stringers to level for the splashwell. Sacking out got to gets to work tonight. Sanding really never stops. :D

I'm not a poly guy but that will save you alot of cabbage. Just saying. I'm soo bad at this I thought eeppoxxy would be my saving grace. I do like it though no matter the cost.

Not alot of production glass boat restorers are using epoxy, but im betting the overall cost difference is narrower than most think, taking into account hazmat shipping, and strength to ratio savings....where you lose ground is you can drink way more beer without the mask when using poxy...:D

So after some thought and googlin... I decided not to use the mat my neighbor gave me. It's was left over from a deck job, @ 8-10 oz. Prior what I used was 3/4" oz. and that conformed. Well that plus the styrene that poly breaks down and not eeeppoooxxxy. I'm going to cap and wrap stringer/bulkheads with my 1700
CSM can be used w/poxy but its a pia.

Youre just wasting resin soaking up that mat...Ive been using the cloth packages from home depot to cap stringers...its like 5-6 oz and is a breeze to use....2-3 layers is plenty...

zool/Larry: Were you talking about the fabric or the csm HD stocks? Just went out and ripped out anotherwet pc not so nice pc.1700 that was bubble city. Cooler temps aren't letting set up fast. So that made me happy..In a weird way.

Its called Bondo fiberglass cloth...its like 6 bucks a package....you get like a yard or two and when cut into strips, it goes a long way.
