Sorry to hear about that. My lower went out in the spring and it took me a good portion of the season to save enough money for a replacement. I probably made 10 fewer trips to the lake this year because of my lower unit issue. Now I have a newly rebuilt unit and all is good, but it was an expensive start to the season. Hopefully you will be able to make the necessary repairs during the winter months and not miss any time next season.

Ah man thats gonna hurt (the wallet) worse than the sting to the neck...owww!

Good luck with that, hopefully it just a few bearings and some re assy and youre back on track! make sure to ADD OIL! lol

Yep IT does S#$# !! LOL I going to post in the merc forum to make sure what years leg will fit !! seen two on ebay tonight . one for 150 starting bid and one for 175 starting bid !!! just got to come up with the money now !! lol

I did get her fogged out tonight !! so she is ready to come off and get it and the tron in the garage !! nit got to move the 65 gal out of there ! and clean the garage !! I got tomorrow off so I am going to see how far I get !!

I am just so glad that the compression was good on all 6 !!!

Also I think it was the prop seal that let go !! could hear it sucking air in as i was turning it tonight !! JOhn

Ok I was going to get some pics of the boat today but had to work !! OT for me !! lol any way I will try tomorrow , there paint that needs to be touched up and the keel needs paint and a keel guard !! and then on the transom there is a crack where that old guy hit the motor !!!

So i will try tomorrow but I am going to set up my hunting blind and parent teacher conf, for the kids !! John

I snagged a copy of that last fall colors picture...beautiful trees and a nice shot...might have to make that my desktop pic til the snow flies!

So, are you going to start the next project this winter, or take a break for now and concentrate on a new lower unit? I just pulled mine off my 25 so I can do the impeller over the winter and give it a good once over.

Super pics! my fave is the "snag" LOVE IT!! lol nice

reminds me of my brother ini law, last time he went fishin with us he had around 5 snags like that hahaahh

and his uncle had birds nests on his spinning rig every other cast....

I was using my trusty sponge bob pole and had no tangles snags or birds nests lol

Ok guys here the pics of what I am going to fix on the tron this winter !!
this frist pics is of the bow , its where the anchor line wore on it !!

Ok then there is the keel , this is from vacation this summer , I keep her in the water , and beached her !! I will be getting a keel gaurd for her !! it was so nice to just get in her and go while we were there !!

Ok then there is the transom !! I didnt notice this when that old man hit the motor . he just I thought tapped it but he cracked it right next to the mount !! then where I filled the gap with marine tex !! I think cause I didnt glass the other side !! so I am going to grind this out and re glass this and tex it again and paint her , or should touch it up there !! and glass the in side better to the top !!! If you notice the crack it going up and not down !! thats why I wasnt worried about it this summer!!

Perhaps that should have had a wrap of glass over it to hold it together.

On mine, there is a metal strip that is supposed to go over that area...might be the danger of just "glassing" over the top of the transom. I'm a little perplexed though, didn't you use Epoxy here John? I'd have thought that would hold up better.

Yea it should have . live and learn !! also on the inside it needed some where the bottom of the splahwell is !! I think if i would have put 3 laiyers on the in side I really dont think it would have moved !! when the guy hit it all he did was lift the motor up !! put a nice crease in his hood !!! the top where she splt I will grind out and reglass it a good 3 inchs there !! and yea I used epoxy , but where the top meets theres a lot of marine tex , thats what cracked !!!

Cool....Ill check it out...BTW We are doing fine! I was getting depressed about $$$ worries since biz was slow, but it all turned around...not quite like the old days (6 months ago lol) but decent nonetheless!
