Re: pic of work so far

I just went to my local vinyl shop and had them made up 20 bucks, kind of told him what size it had to fit in and came back an hour later and he had them done !! John

John,

Is that red vinyl red all the way through, cut from red vinyl, or is the color printed on?

Hey John, here's one that ought to make your day......Me with Steve Yzerman
or is it Steve Yzerman with the famous photographer? lol
yes I got him to sign 2 Jerseys (home and away)and a Steve Yzerman wood hockey stick and some pucks. got that shirt autographed by a bunch of Redwings at a Alumni game, Dino Ciccarelli was there, got a puck signed by him. Gotta love Hockey!!!!

Little Caesars Pizza is one of my clients, this is me with Steve Y at last years convention here in Vegas (at caesars palace casino of course)
he was way cool, got to chat a little with him. This year they had it in Detroit, met kid Rock he was thier guest of honor this year (their 50th anniversary)

Check out Redwings historical data, my cousin Chris Cichocki played in the 80s with Steve Y, Chris also played on the NJ Devils, now he is a coach of AAA league out of Stockton, Ca

Re: pic of work so far

OK guys when I was out last night [ what a great night ] I finally have a working tack .the one is the tron is broke, I took the one out of the hustler, That one works !! well she was only hitting just under 4000 , so I know I need a few new wires on her and I think I can get a little more out of the throttle cable !! I am hitting 42 with a 3 blade alum, on there , and also need to clean the carbs on her , or should I say I am going to run some sea foam threw the next few tanks !!

OK now I don't really want to get her where we top out , that is 5500 RPM I have to check , shes a 69 125 hp merc !! I am going to start looking for a prop like a 21 at least stainless with a 2 step up in pitch i should pick up 400 rmp at least

I have a two blade that came with her, but it has a couple chip I need to get fixed !! he was telling me when I got the motor that he was getting 45 with the 3 blade bronze prop I was getting 40, with the 3 blade alum I was getting 42, With the 2 blade he said he was getting 55 out of her , with the two blade i should get 50 at least !! I am going to look for a 3 blade stainless steel a 21 !! what do you guys think !! I should post this also in the prop forum !! John

I want to ask why the diamond plate on the stern? I love how it looks, we need something like that for ours because that's where our swim ladder is. Either way it looks really good.

Re: pic of work so far

The front of mine had teak strips for that purpose, but I've seen black rubber diamond plate like adhesive panels I was thinking of putting back there on mine, though the diamond plate would allow stepping without stressing the hull as much...

Hi John
Im kinda guessing unless you run into him at the lake, (Steve Yzerman) there's little chance of that. lol
Look for a 40' ft SLEEK powerboat shooting rooster tails, that might be Steve Y ha ha...just kidding not sure if he even has a boat, he may have an Ice Shanty though......hmmmmm

Keep up the good work on the boats:)!

Re: pic of work so far

Hey John, I just thought I'd show you what I'm up against trying to find a motor up here. I may have to send out the call to the guys here to find me a reasonably priced motor!

http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/hnp/boa/1354005567.html
1969 Mercury 125 outboard motor with TNT - $1195 :eek::eek::eek: (Princeton, MN)

Date: 2009-09-01, 6:34PM CDT

Great running 1969 125 Mercury tower of power 6cylinder outboard motor with power trim and tilt.
Turn key - recently tuned up - new spark plugs, fuel lines, carbs cleaned, new fuel lines, wiring harness, timing checked.
Prop/skeg in good shape no chips or bends
Pushes my 19.5ft Aluminum Lund Deep-V Runabout to 33MPH. Speed was recorded on a GPS hand held unit underway.
This was a one owner motor for the last 40 years. Motor was on Mille Lacs Lake for 40 years. I am now the second owner.

No low ball offers!!!

Motor is still on my boat can let you hear and run this motor before the purchase.

Picture represents what the motor looks like, the motor is faded, but not beat up. Can send pics if interested.

John,
It looks terrific...keep it up. Not to worry about the prop snafu, you're certainly not alone in the school of hard knocks!

Hi John....
well not that it is the best idea, but here in Vegas, I called the Dept of Wildlife...about untitled boats ...abandoned boats etc...they said "If they are on the street, the police will tow them then auction and / or dispose of them"
So basically, if it isnt titled to anyone, drop it out frt and call the cops! lol ROTFLMA :D

I am dead serious!!!!!!!!! lol :):D:eek:

anyways...untitled boats are a great way to score a deal on outboards or parts, sterndrives. Some people cut em up with a chainsaw and trash em that way..our dump is free if you have a local garbage bill for the previous month (residental) we trashed 5 uhaul 25 ft truck loads of tree branches and such one year...no charge.

otherwise they charge about $9 a square yard here.....thats the "other" or commercial rate. 3x3x3 ft at-least here.
keep that trailer or CL it! or maybye scavenge parts.
Ive seen LOTS of boats dumped on side streets, lots and corners. its crazy!

Re: pic of work so far

I saw another iBoats poster recommend this site several years ago.

http://www.vehicleremovalservice.com/faq.php

I have never used the service, but I did bookmark the web address for the day when I need a boat or vehicle removed. The service claims to be free, which seems too good to be true, but it may work out for you. If the service works as advertised, it is a good way to acquire and dispose of cheap/free old boats that have salvagable parts.
