Re: MFG rebuild getting started pics

Wow. Took me awhile to get through this great thread. The boat looks awesome. I love the the splashwell/back seat area. Very very nice. I love the rounded corners. And the interior as well. Can't wait for the splash. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for stopping by TC ! Yeah the splashwell area took a little pondering to come up with a decent plan. I have learned sooo much from all the guys here I know it wouldn,t have turned out as well without everyone's help ..

GT ,
Wish I had a tripod for the camera . That one handed sewing is kinda difficult !:D

Q?-Does the camera have the usual threaded hole in the bottom for a t-pod...I think they are like 1/4-20 threads...with your mad skills you could whip up a quickie t-pod with some wood and a screw or two...

You could add some t-nuts to the base to make it adjustable by screwing in some bolts, or even thread in different length legs for added height...hey its crude but cheap...

Happy Friday!:D

Got any leftover Seacast biscuits? Sub those for the wood in GT's rendering & you'll have an inclement weather tri-pod.

Extreme Sewing is up next on the Discovery Channel.... Right after Extreme Ironing..... I watch this video:
I thought I did, but man, some people really do have way too much time on their hands  Organized sports?

Nice plan GT! Thanks... But I like my $5.79 3legged bendy tripod:

It would have been better if he was hanging upside down.

I don't understand...what was the point of him doing that? I mean if he was repairing a caopy up in the rafters I would understand..but runnning a small piece of clothe through a machine...not even connecting two or putting a hem on it....

It's Friday SP!!!

Hope you aren't working this weekend...

Re: MFG rebuild getting started pics

I talked to JDA and he was able to find the right walking foot attachment for the super high shank machine that I have . It.s kinda pricey and most of the top stitch stuff is done so I,m not sure if I will order it or not. I wish I had known about it earlier . The stitch length is uneven here and there but nothing I can,t live with for an extreme sewing rookie .. The slide spray looks interesting ...

Re: MFG rebuild getting started pics

Thanks Decker !
Started cutting bottom edge pieces ..
DSC00798.jpg

I originally made my template with just a 1/2" seam allowance all the way around . I then thought I might better add an extra 1/2 " to the side that will receive the velcro . Glad I thought of that before I marked all the pieces ! My thought is to baste the edge over an inch then sew the velcro about an 1/8 " in from the edge . I will prolly have to make some relief cuts to help it bend around the radius. Who,s idea was the curve anyway !
DSC00796.jpg

Need some help from the think tank ...
The bottom of the seats are going to slip over the top and will fasten underneath. The panels are already sewn and cut and I did not allow for any hem to hide the raw edge cuts on the bottom .. I think I will cut the bottom panel where I have it marked on the old mockup. Also thought I may cut it on one of the dotted lines . Any idea,s on where I should make the cuts ?
