Re: Love, Necessity and Pride

Thanks guys, it is very special, very rare spit made using skin of newt, tail of iguana, saliva from a mummy, plus a few other secret ingredients, and some voodoo...

Well, it was a slow afternoon, so I decided to knock out the second center cap I need...

Trim it close to the line...

Ready for final fitment...

And a pair of nice, shiny center caps at the bottom feeder friendly price of free...

That will do...just need to punch out a hole in each one for the hold down bolt and I'll call them done...

Man, I better get on the early pre-production list, I don't want to pony up extra boat fund dollars to get a set when Gus gets famous, and gets his own show :faint2:............. Outta sight BIG $ then.... :)

Esp if there's a substantial iboats friends & family discount :watermelon:

Another nice center cap, great work..

Re: Love, Necessity and Pride

Thank you, gents...it is all the little things that add up and make it one step closer to completion...

That being said, there is a small, well OK, a large thing happening this weekend...

While I won't be able to call it done for at least a couple weeks...
The plywood is cut and fit for the deck/sole...WOOOHOOO!:whoo:

Tomorrow I hope to get a few more pieces pre-cut in preparation for the final install and foaming {the foam fundage is what now needs to grow on the money tree}...

The notch you see missing on the starboard side of the deck is what the cardboard template is for... a piece of ply will get cut to fit and it will get scabbed in...that piece is missing because the bow piece of the deck needed to be longer than four feet...ah well, I got all of the main sole cutout from just two sheets of ply with plenty left over for other bits and pieces...

Don't tell anyone, but I actually danced a little jig on it... ...heeheehee!

And...I made some cardboard templates of some pieces that will become a psuedo bulkhead at the very back of the deck...its purpose is to fully enclose the space between the hull and the sole...which, when filled with foam, will hopefully remain completely sealed from any water intrusion in the future...they will also create what will become the bilge...

That's all I got for now...

Hope every one is having an awesome weekend!

Wow man...this is why I never referred to my rushed rebuild as a "restoration" around these parts. Amazing work! Your attention to detail is incredible.

Way to slice and dice some plywood...you have a key for all those letters and numbers? I did similar with no key....proved to be hectic at times..

Per usual - Great work

Coming soon, hopefully...

Actually pretty simple...in this case a B or an S, plus → or ← : stands for Bow or Stern, this way or that way
The combined letters, as in BP# or BS# = Bulkhead, Port or Starboard...
And the lonely little ↑, just means, This Side Up...
OK, maybe not so simple...

Yeah, but you still did an awesome job in a short period of time...

I tell ya I go outside and cut the grass and by the time I get finished you have built your whole deck !

Hey, you holding out on us with a new Jeep tow rig ! :D

In that case, call me whenever you are gonna cut the grass, with that kind of info, I could get this thing done in no time...

Nah, the Jeep is a Dealer Showroom car that received damage while getting unloaded...
At this point in time, I honestly couldn't see buying any new car...way too much green for way too much technology, IMHO...
I'm still OK with massive fuel guzzling HP, stick shift, Posi-rear, radio delete, crank windows and 852 Air Conditioning...Well OK, a guy can dream, can't he...

I'm glad I ate before I saw this...:hungry:

All that ^^^ is great looking stuff happening.

Again, thanks for dropping by...

Well, its off to the shop for a little more carpentry work on the old tub...

L8r, guys...Have an amazing Sunday!:D

Great stuff happenin' over here Gus! Those rear bulk-head pieces turned out beautifully... Also, I was thinking you might could use that little starboard side deck cut-out as a place to pour some foam before you "scab and tab" it back in (one less hole to drill in your dance floor, ya know).

The carpentry is really top notch!
