Re: Love, Necessity and Pride
Then I mixed up some really thick and hairy PB...
Buttered the top of the stringers and slapped down the first section of decking with some improvised weights...
Left over PB was used along the edges and while waiting for that to kick...
Pulled the boat out into the sun to speed up the set time...then it was lunch time...:hungry:
Full tank of fuel in the gut and it was time to tackle the next section...
Checked the first section and PB glue is a total success, actually held the deck down even though there is some upward tension on it due to the built in dip in the center...YES!
I prepped the next section by pre-drilling where the screws would go to pull the scabs on the previous section tight...
So I mixed up more of the super thick and hairy PB, buttered the stringer tops and the tops of the scabs
Laid down the second section, ran the screws in and used up any left over PB to fill a bit around the edges, then moved the weights into place...
Here you can see the screws used to pull the two sections together...
Last procedure of the day was to mix a bit more PB and set the rear bulkhead pieces into place and add some strips of CSM to help lock them in...
It was then about 3:30 PM and the sky went from hot and sunny to cool and
dark gray green as a huge thunderstorm started rolling in from the West...
So I decided it was as good a time as any to call it a day...gonna get outa Dodge on Sunday, but Monday I'll try and get the last couple of sections in and PB the entire perimeter...
Hope everyone is having and awesome holiday weekend...
