Hey, perhaps a NW get-together in the future?

There have been a few GTGs in oops and NoKlu land, I think I remember one on opps's boat and a toon loaded with silicone. And to think they say there's no place for silicone on a boat.

we can have it catered by our favorite resturant. and thier staff !
and thats the only silicone i want on my boat....!

Re: hull extension in progress with picks

well.....where do i start......!!!

yesterday was kind of a parts getting day....lots of driving around.....then someone said the gremans and the canadians were gonna drop the puck....so the day was done rather early.

today was a little different !

we started around noon....and went hard at it....

within minits.....we had more light...

asembly-shifter-rigging109.jpg

a number of minor hook ups needed to be completed....the power steering.....the tilt/trim...the distribuitor needed to be installed.....

asembly-shifter-rigging114.jpg

after the dist...we found a dead coil.....so we swapped that out....

then came the big moment......

asembly-shifter-rigging110.jpg

ITS ALIVE !

asembly-shifter-rigging112.jpg

we just flashed it for 20 seconds....as the drive is not on.....but it sounded great....really strong....

tommorow....we have more parts to get....like the throttle barrel holders....and the darn trim sensors.....but that will be done by 2 pm......then we take the boat out side and give it a half hour run up !

Welding on the tank WILL screw up the interior coating. Can you use fittings to get the angle like a plumber would do? Maybe some kind of hard piping with flex hose connectors to the tank and filler so it can move a little?

Re: hull extension in progress with picks

I'm sure you know this, but if the drive is off you can run the engine for 20-30 sec without water, as long as it doesn't get too hot (the manifolds will heat up first).. once the drive is on, you need water flowing or the lower unit impeller melts pretty quickly.

I'm sure you know, I'd just hate to see you have to stop and fix things because someone overlooked them.

he is going to attach to the fill pipe...minimal damage from that....just elbow it.

thanks legoman......one thing about this rigging.....
when someone does a restoration or a re-fit...they have all the parts that will fit that application....everything from the hoses to the linkage assembly.

i had a block...manifolds....and a transom plate....lol...everything had to be altered...fabricated or stolen ! :D
...so this rigging took a really long time.
the electrical (ships wiring) was only approx 6 hrs...but once the motor got built....it was just a matter of time.

by the way.....you guys are doing a fantastic job up there. im really impressed . and if i ever get to the island.....im coming for a visit ! :)

cheers

ondarvr.......i think you are confused between boat materals and definitions.....please let me clairify.

websters.....

1. SILLYCONE is a substance used to glue down tiles in the bathroom......some times used by boat owners that don't know any better.....these same people ....in a few years, are known as customers in the restoration business.

2. SILICONE.....sometimes wrapped in string and light cloth, best observed au natural. while very aesthetically pleasing...it is also used as pillows on a boat.......can also be used as a flotation devices. :D

Can I assume the beam direction is fixed in those lights? I'd love to put them on my boat, but the front end angle is so sharp, it'd look cross eyed.

It's always good to keep on top of some things in case something new pops up. :D He must be waiting on parts before we hear how the longer run on the engine and drive went.
