how about this? Perhaps the bullets with red lenses on top are a little too dated?

You must have a endless supply of glass and resin? Just wondering. I like the wing though!

Looks like, to me, a variation of Batmobile "antlers". :D

Yeah, I was kinda thinking that after I posted it.

I dunno, I was starting to hand draw up some ideas last night but didn't get very far...I'm having a hard time visualizing a shape that fits the design of the boat. It isn't a real slick boat like a new Sea Ray cruiser with the wing, and it's not really angular like my Glastron...it's just sturdy and swift and kinda ocean liner like....hmmmm.

Hey ward, how about this idea? A center mast( wing shaped post )coming up and then a swept wing design across the top. You could mount it to the engine cover. As long as the cover is secured to the boat well enough, it would hold just fine

Question about your seats -- I couldn't really tell from the photos, but are the seat molds going to include a backrest to the seat? If so, will the backrest go all the way up to the interior portion of the upper cap of the boat? Don't know if I'm being clear enough with my question.. I would just be neat if the seats were to tie into the existing interior.

Hey Oops,

I think that the idea is pretty cool and unique. One of the points of doing this proj is so that it is something unique??? It screams Mopar musclecar. I agree though that the weight may not be cool. I would not want to see too much top heavy weight there. Remember the houseboat a couple years ago:(

However, unlike many here that just like to howl and not offer any solutions:p, I am thinking that if you use the other posters idea of a bent tube frame for strength and then you can use fiber to do the design work. Should be strong, lighter and cost effective. If you are covering up the bent steel then rusting shouldn't be an issue either.

There is my $0.02

Oops! check your PM's man. Sent a couple and need some kind of response for holiday purposes :p

As for the tower... I'm torn. I honestly don't really like the idea of a tower on that boat, but at the same time like redfury's drawing of having something at the stern. Maybe if it was at the stern and sloped back, rather then forward it could also end up being a whole lot shorter without being in the way. With the mock-up it just seems too 'big' and over powers the true sense of how cool that boat really is. Take this with a grain of salt though because I'm a fan of long and low... my chopper is a testament to that. I'm almost thinking that if you go the tower route, a four point mount on the hull with hinge pins would allow for easy removal and any wiring would be done through a connector. That would at least allow for easy removal and you don't have to deal with bolts. Also, some vinyl with a zipper on the bow side and 2 detachable stern poles with a washer welded 1" down on each and a retaining clip (even just a large cotter pin) 1/2" up from that with a couple re-enforced holes... would allow for a nice bimini top of sorts. Zipper up the front, through down the polls (angled to the stern), put in the pins and enjoy.

Re: hull extension in progress with picks

uh....ok guys....there is a ton of great posts here....

PLEASE...KEEP THEM COMING.........(if you dont know what we are talking about....go back a page or two and look at the wake tower mock up and please post your comment......this is....and will continue to be an i boats boat.

one thing....ive shown the boat with the mock up 6 times now....everyone loves it......im going to show it again in a few minits to one of my buddies that boats with me all the time........(he is the guy that started the whole concept of the boat actually.....he just mentioned the name.....and my mind went ....wwwheeeeeee......:D :D lol )

if i continue with this design.....it will fold down....

one of the lakes we boat has a low bridge and at high water....it will need to be lowered or we wont be getting to the beer store !

also......uh....about biminis........uh....i like the sun.....so ....i dont like biminies...

but i have 4 for sale....i might keep one just in case and make some simple attachments for it...

as far as electrical.......uh.....thanks for reminding me...... ...but thats simple.

if i do this.....it will also be a working air foil......the top wing section is around 12 inches wide....so it might even provide some "lift" at high speed.

red fury......im going to take a picture of my hand drawn plan you you can play......

ok....ill be on later tonight.

Re: hull extension in progress with picks

electrical is the easy part. (at least for me)
What do you plan on powering the boat with? You probably said it soemwhere in the 3000 posts...

Re: hull extension in progress with picks

hi matt.....

i was refering to the electrical that is actually needed in the tower.....that means running concealed conduit........i totally forgot about that when i was thinking of a design for the wake tower.

as far as power for the boat goes......this thread is one of the best avalabile power discussions any where.........just check the index on the first page....

but as for this boat....i am still figuring.....but getting very close to a final decision.

Is it just me or is that channel getting shallower every year?

Busted a rod tip on the bridge going through there once. D'oh.

Oh, and somewhere back a couple of pages something was mentioned about Wednesday. At the time I didn't know my plans but I am free so call or text me. Can do your shop or Freddy's is close to work.

wednesday is a special night.......its game 3......so depending on what time....but i gotta be at the shop at 6 30 for the pre game.....we can talk for houirs....catch up and listen tot the game....

but freddys has a fantasitc appy's menus......hey ....rob j is coming up very soon.....i think he said the 25th....that means wed.....cool.....a group get togeather!.....now we just gotta get yar back from salt lake and jodi up from the states!.....lol

as far as the depth of the channel...im certain that channel is why i have never been able to keep a prop with out getting it dinged!......i really wish they would dredge it out in the winter....!!!!!!.....i mean jump in there with a few chain saws......then take some rocks out.....and go in with a big mud vaccume and make it a foot or two deeper!.......it would save us huge in props!

ok......wed....sounds great....

All I can say is wow! Fantastic job. I started reading and am only on page 20 and I have to say I am hooked. It was had to get away to work on my projected. Looking forward to reading the rest and I have not read ahead just want to tell you absolutly amazing. And I have to say after two days of wet sanding my project I have to admire you drive and stamina. LOL
