top is around 65, cruises nicely with tabs downat about 40 useing about 32 GPH. But i can reduces a bit more and when i get it trimmed nicely it drops to around 28-30.

Wow, I think the Abrams gets better MPG than that! ( that's the M1 Abrahms tank that has a black hawk helicopter engine in it pushing 60 tons around @ 60mph for those who don't know )

lol thanks REDFURY, remind us how much we burn lol but i do agree i think thats a high GPH, i spoke with the guy down the street (who has the same boat) and he burns 16 GPH when cruising and thats @ 40 mph. So i hope when you said 32 GPH thats when your at full throttle or else when you rip your deck up snake you might wanna see if those donzi's were made of concrete! ;-)

The difference is that you are running a 30 foot boat with 2x 200hp motors. Not exactly a fuel sipper.

Maybe you could install a Mast and a Sail?

heyyy dont lowball me. there twin 250's....... hey that extra 100 hp means somethin!! lol

I called Boat U.S. to get insurance on the thing, they said they generally dont cover someone under the age of 25 with 500hp. they sent me an outrageous quote to insure it!! so see apparently it burns more gas and goes faster, and costs more just cuz.......


By the way, no updated photos for this weekend cuz....well i was a slacker and didnt work on her! But this will be a big week for me! so stay tuned starting tonight i am working week nights to get her all buttoned up by Sunday, plan is to get her into PAINT NEXT WEEK!!! so ill be updating photos throughout the week!

As far as the vinyl goes, I would not use anything from Jo-Ann fabrics. I redid all the vinyl on my Regal three years, by myself, use Nautalex. Its has good resisitence to dirt, cleans easy. Go to canvasdealer.com to look at some of the prices, then compare.

Now see that! what a seamen! Roman, thats just what i was looking for, someone who has done some vinyle work, and has used a product they liked, AND recomended a site! NICE JOB RO!

Questions that have still gone unanswered are:

Q1, i have no idea where to start with proping this boat

Q2 Where to find WHITE "wire hoes" (the hose that goes from the outboards to the transom which holds the fuel line, shift cables ex... about 1 1/2 in diamiter) these on 90 precent of boats come in BLACK but i want WHITE, someone recomended Home Depot, but when i went there they had white FLEX tube, which is more of a stiff plumbing hose which is not what im looking for, im looking for the cheap white "computer" cord holder hoes in white.

Q3 Exactly how to wire my boat....lol

is the black hose made of plastic or rubber?

get some plastic or rubber paint and paint it the color you want.

Did you bother to check out that site? I don't think they have what you want for the perimeter of the boat. And their prices are, ummm, not exactly competitive.

....Cuz we can all go to the most expensive sites and say ?oh yeah that?s good stuff? im looking to educate others and myself on Vynle products for the boat.....

Well, like you said, if you want to educate others and yourself, you should do some research on your own, call the dealers and tell them what your doing, and let them help suggest a product. Then you won't get stuck buying the wrong product from websites with premium prices. And you can share it all with us!!!

pretty simple, get afew wires, hook afew to the engine, and then to the back of your dash panel

get the service manual for your engines, it will show you how to wire them.

Couple of ideas for you there. I've seen this used on the newer engine set ups for cable management, and it looks like you can get less than a spool of it by special order and in white. Some items are black only, but a lot of them come in black, white and colors. This is what I think I would use instead of that split loom stuff. I've got some of the heavier duty stuff for cable management for my computer and it is way too stiff.

MY GPH numbers are off the Yama fuel computer. Maybe when i rip up the deck it will be full of sogging stuff. lets hope not.

I was thinking about the figures, at 4500 i run about 45 MPH burning about 30GPH, that doesnt seem off to me for both motors. I dont see how someone can run 45 MPH and burn 15GPH that seems like they are sipping fuel.

The 10% rule will put jserb at about 50 gallons an hour at WOT. I doubt he will see better than 35-40 gph cruising.

what about a plumbing supply house for the hoses.. my dad sells boilers to them so hes in there all the time.. ill ask him tonight or tomorrow whenever i see him

They kind of remind me of the hose we use to clean our pool.. take a look at some pool supplies maybe you can fix something up

hi bud.......

i really want to catch up on this thread........lbut in responce to your question....ill try to call asap....

but 400 wet.......(tons of work).......6-800 dry....(slo speed on a bigger sponge pad).......and keep it moving.......dont go deep....you just want to knock off the wax and outer layer of oxidation.......then, farecla...............(pronounced -fair-eck-la...).....a 300 grit...(fine)....or for the deep scratches......200...(not sand paper but the farecla)

as far sa the prop question i just breifly saw.......check the prop forum for how to properly prop your motors........but start with alum 19's...

ill give more detail on how to "dial it in" with the prop.....but a ninteen is a great starting point......make sure you have an accurate tach and a working gps.......or you will be guessing!

I Was At West Marine Today Picking Up My New Transom Drain Tubes And I Saw The Tubes That You Were Looking For It Is The White Tubes For Covering The Fuel Lines. They Had It By All The Plumbing Fittings.

john i ordered that hose for my boat. ill get some pics of it.. but heres the old hose we had . my dad said he might have gotten it at home depot as a sump pump hose.. take a look.. i have throttle and gear on the left.. than battery/gas/remote power all in one on the right.. lot more organized
