Re: HUGE PROJECT!! 30' Scarab Sport overhual
Ok John,
I'm going to say this but it doesn't feel comfy as an answer to your question.
Because others said that Imron may be ok, I'll tell you that I had it put on a Highway truck I owned in '81.
The paint was pretty near bulletproof for two years of booting around country roads, highways, in dust storms and all other weather conditions.
I would think that that in itself should have dulled the finish and made my old truck look well used, it didn't, the paint was still about as shiny as when it went on, it was expensive, but well worth it. I sold the truck because someone offered on account of that paintjob.
Now.., how it would do on glass is something I can't comment on, and I can't answer for the submersing in water all the time either.
I can only say that I still used it when I needed patches and panels done on the trucks after the last time painting up til just a few years ago, and I was always impressed with the wet look it gave and the close colormatches it offered from old to new paint.
That could have been the painters skill as much as quality though I suppose.
It will most likely be just fine but I can't tell you that.
Good luck, and take care,
PH.
