You know, I have been doing alot of research on Sea Ray 220 models the past few days on Boat trader and other sites. I really did not pay such a bad price after all. From what I have seen people are asking between 11,000 and 15,000 for years that are close to mine. I payed alot less, but I will be back up there after all the repairs. So maybe this was a blessing, as I get to make it just the way i like it.

That's the way to make lemonaide.

This weather sucks. My driveway is kinda sloped, long and crooked. I went out and cleared the ice off earlier. That was no fun. I doubt I'll be going anywhere tomorrow but I figured it would give me the best chance if I had to get out.

J I know I mentioned this before and I also know you have bigger fish to fry with the rig but! Did you ever look into why the very end of your rays trailer has the missing (?) cross bar? I remember you saying it looked factory but it still seems odd to me every time I look at the pictures when I visit your thread daily being it's the bigger brother to mine and it carring much more wieght I just can't figure out why there wouldn't be one there.
By the way just keep in mind the weather your experiencing down there is what we deal with yearly for @ least 4 to 5 months every year. Just be patient and take your time and expect anything from anybody on the road.

I remember you and I talking about that. It is factory. There are two bars that have "Equiload" printed on them. They look like a teeter totter, and the boat sits on them. From what I can find they are made by shorelander.

I just never thought that the wieght would be evenly distributed without causing the rails to spread over time. Shotelander seems to make a good product I have never had any issues what so ever with mine besides bunk replacement and 1 bulb in 9 years.

Man it is aweful here. For the first time I had to cancel jobs today. I could not get into my shop due to the ice, and I was not about to pull a trailer today. It sleeted all night long and the roads are almost impassable. Right now we are in the teens, and will have a low in my part of the woods around 8 to 10 degrees. Yes you heard me right. Tomorrow the high will be around 18.

Wow that sucks! We are in the low 30's right now with a low in the teens tonight and it's killin me! I can't imagine what yall are feeling. I dripped the faucet outside last night and I had an ice sickle (spelling?) about 5 inches long this morning out the bottom of it! grrrr

You guys are not going to believe what I did today. After not working yesterday (ice storm), I had to go and get some work done today. It took me 45 minutes to drive 6 miles in the ice to get my trailer at my shop. We have 14" doors and they have a rope on the bottom so you can reach and pull them back down. The lock was frozen on the door and it took us about and hour to get the lock thawed out so I could open the door. Once I got it unlocked, it would not open because it was frozen in 2" of ice. So I got my hammer and pounded the ice up enough to open the door and hitched my trailer up. Now all this time it is about 15 degrees outside with a 25 mph wind. It was freaking cold. I know you guys get this up north all the time, but we are not used to this here. We are used to heat, not bone chilling cold. Anyway I hitch up the trailer and go to pull it out and I hear CRASH!!!!! BOOOOM!!! and I said WTF!?!? I looked back and the roll up door was ripped out from the tracks, from the ladder racks on the trailer. I got out to see what happened when I saw it. A large piece of ice was still on that rope you pull the door down with, and when I pulled out of the garage the rope with weight of the ice on it wrapped around the ladder rack and it pulled the door down low enough to hit the second rung of my rack and rip it down. My landlord was not to far away, and he came running to see what happened. To my surprise he started laughing, and said, "this just ain't your day man". Gee thanks. Anyway I think my auto insurance will cover this, and I will just have to make sure I check for ice chunks from now on.

J the only thing I can say is been there! my garage door was frozen to the concreate tuesday morning and pull the top roller brackets right off the door when I opened it luckily I had a canister of zip screws sitting on my tool box right beside the door with my cordless drill and shot them right in but the door wouldn't stay closed (concreate swelled) to much for the downward force adjustment to accomodate but all I can say is come summer we will be sitting in our rigs on the lake laughing this sh-t off in the warm summer sun. Things always get better.

Sorry to hear that jay, I got my Dad's gate today with the tractor....I was concentrating on not hitting it with the front end loader and tires....thought I was clear, forgot the box blade on the back is about 6" wider than the tractor, oops. Nothing a hammer can't fix when it thaws out! Hang in there I think warmer air is headed this way this weekend!

Hey...we may be used to it up North...but judging by all the accidents, you'd think it was the first time we've ever seen snow. The only difference for us is that we have to go outside in the cold b/c it won't be warm again for 5 months. You guys down South know it'll be warm again in a couple days.

Just read your postings yesterday and it is good that you're proceeding despite the anger towards the PO, here's a blade that I used last year to gut my Checkmate boat.
It fits on a hand grinder (4.5") and has carbide teeth and can cut Fiberglas, wood and soggy foam, found it at a hardware store for $6.00. Rated for 12000 rpm.

That is true. We will be semi warm in a few days. However, they just cancelled school for a fourth day tomorrow, and we are expecting more snow tonight, and then again on Monday.

Yep. What a mess... Looks like a good day to go to the boat show! I'll be there today with some friends.

Hey Frisco,
One thing I did when at the point you are at now is mark 2 spots on either side of the hull (inside the boat) and measure the distance. After I cut all the rot and glass out I measured again. It gave me an idea of how much it is flexing into the bunks and weather or not I needed to support the keel.

Sorry for the storage mishap. The boat looks great so far.

I'm hooked on the Glastron!!! Been reading and watching you videos about half the day. On page 19 now and it's hard not to jump forward to see the finished product.
