Re: Here I go again!! 1995 Sea Ray 220 Signature Deck and Stringer Restoration SPLASH
Hello Jay,
Man, I think you are my long lost twin brother from another mother! LOL.
I too, am a do-it-yourself-er, and much like yourself, I feel like there isn't anything I can't do. I recently joined iboats back in September of this year and was searching various threads when I stumbled across your extensive boat restoration. WOW! I am a perfectionist and might I say, ?You have done an amazing job!? What a BEAUTIFUL boat! Great Job! My only complaint was (well my wife's only complaint) I spent 4-5 solid days in my spare time reading thru your whole thread and watching all your amazing videos. Time well spent might I add...
I started looking for my first boat back in August of this year, and was searching for a great parts and forums site and iboats popped up on one of my searches. Nice, the best of both worlds in one site. I originally planned on finding an older boat that might need some restoration. That was the cause of me staying up until 2 in the morning night after night to get thru all your videos. It gave me the confidence I needed to be able to restore a boat in any condition. I ended up coming across a 1994 Manta Ray 203 fish/ski that was in excellent condition for its age, that I couldn't refuse. It too, like your Sea Ray was supposed to be lake ready, well it all looked well until my first trip out to the lake after purchasing it. I know, I know, I should have lake tested it before, but it ran so well in the driveway. I don't want to hijack your thread to tell my story, so I will stop now before I start rambling on.
Just wanted to introduce myself and sometime this up and coming summer, we might have to meet out on the lake and hang out. My wife and I live in the metroplex in Keller, so it's not to far from ya.
Oh, and just to warn you, I might have tons of questions for you since this is the first boat I've owned...
Take Care fellow boater,
Dave
