I've gotta agree on the Mac issue. Switch and you'll never look back. Show your wife iPhoto, and she'll be sold.

I know it is the BOMB. The problem is the price. I went a priced one out the other day, and for a really nice Macbook pro I am looking at about 2800 bucks. OUUUUCH!!

Yah, they are kinda spendy.

Honestly Jay, you prolly don't need the pro. I have had two MacBooks now and they have handled everything I've thrown at them. I like them cuz they are smaller and super easy to haul around.

I bought mine as reconditioned off of the Mac site and saved big bux! You would never know the difference from a new one. Same warranty and everything.

Cheers man!

I know, I know. I will get one sooner or later. To many other things to buy right now.

I had a to do an emergency winterization on the boat this afternoon. We are supposed to hit 29 tonight here north of Dallas, and we are in a low spot that usually gets colder. She is full of pink stuff, fogged, and asleep for the winter.

Hello Jay,

Man, I think you are my long lost twin brother from another mother! LOL. :D I too, am a do-it-yourself-er, and much like yourself, I feel like there isn't anything I can't do. I recently joined iboats back in September of this year and was searching various threads when I stumbled across your extensive boat restoration. WOW! I am a perfectionist and might I say, ?You have done an amazing job!? What a BEAUTIFUL boat! Great Job! My only complaint was (well my wife's only complaint) I spent 4-5 solid days in my spare time reading thru your whole thread and watching all your amazing videos. Time well spent might I add...
I started looking for my first boat back in August of this year, and was searching for a great parts and forums site and iboats popped up on one of my searches. Nice, the best of both worlds in one site. I originally planned on finding an older boat that might need some restoration. That was the cause of me staying up until 2 in the morning night after night to get thru all your videos. It gave me the confidence I needed to be able to restore a boat in any condition. I ended up coming across a 1994 Manta Ray 203 fish/ski that was in excellent condition for its age, that I couldn't refuse. It too, like your Sea Ray was supposed to be lake ready, well it all looked well until my first trip out to the lake after purchasing it. I know, I know, I should have lake tested it before, but it ran so well in the driveway. I don't want to hijack your thread to tell my story, so I will stop now before I start rambling on.
Just wanted to introduce myself and sometime this up and coming summer, we might have to meet out on the lake and hang out. My wife and I live in the metroplex in Keller, so it's not to far from ya.
Oh, and just to warn you, I might have tons of questions for you since this is the first boat I've owned...

Take Care fellow boater,
Dave

P.S...I'm already scouring craigs list for a project(Thanks...I think)......I'm sure I'll be referring back to your videos for assistance...Great job, and thank you for your unending drive to do the job right! All the best to you and your family!

It looks like I have Arch.

I am glad you guys found me, and I will do my best to help you through your restorations.

Yes this stuff is very addicting. Thankfully I have not fallen on the trap again... But who knows.

I gotta say as well, I picked up a Winter project that I bet I bit off more then I should have. but my plan is to make it a 2 year project, ending with a fresh paint job, and thats how I found your videos.

I been watching the video's over 2-3 days, even my boss has sat down to watch some them. I would like to know if there are more people doing them on youtube , I havent had much luck finding them.

as for you doing another project, ya man do it. Wife might not like it, so just tell her your subscribers want to see you working on boats, not video tapping your cat :D

LMAO Menglor!!!! My kids wanted me to post the Cats... but hey, that's real life.

I saw that Schimitar and I have actually gone and looked at it, but the guy is crazy for what he is asking for it. Dad and I are going to take a second look at a 1979 Glastron CVX 20 tomorrow. She is pretty rough, but for what he is asking, it will be worth it. If we buy it, the plan is a total resto. New paint, Hot 460 BB ford.. the works. Then after it is finished, make it available to sell (if Dad does not keep it) LOL.

Ok, so I dont know how appropriate this is for you, but it might peak the interests of others as well, But about a month ago, I was looking for some info on a stingray I used too own, and I ran accross this guy.

http://myworld.ebay.com/ebaymotors/boatangelministries/?_trksid=p4340.l2559

now, I dont understand it all exactly, but as I understand it, he is a not for profit orginization, he gets boats donated to him across the country and ebays them. now 5 or 6 of the boats I have seen sell, went for about 100-200$, plus he has a 250 processing fee.

now, if your looking for a fixer upper, this is a CHEAP start to something. the only thing I will suggest is that you make sure you look where the boat is anchored, because I almost bid on one in Texas, its a little far to drive for me, since I live in Canada.

I dont know or cant vouch for the guy, but he seems legit enough, and some of the boats look decent enough to restore.

Well that Glastron was a bust. No motor and had been molested so bad, it just was not worth it.
