Jay,

Just finished your tower videos. Great job lining up that tower with the windhshield. Do you think the plywood pieces you put under the cap is enough with the metal?? Since I am doing cap repair on my searay, I don't know if a tower is in my future. (I think I would have to reinforce the cap alot more; maybe glas also) Your job looks great. Good luck with the lower unit problem.

Hey, if you need someone to do the Speakers for your tower; check out "Linked Up Media" down there. I hear this guy has experience working with boats!!!!

Yep, and I think I am going to have to replace the lower unit over the winter too.

Hey jay, are you getting some vibration or is it making noise. If I recall correctly you said it seemed like the output shaft was tweaked a little when you took the prop off of it at the begining of the rebuild. if so that could be causing the problem. if not I may be out in left field chasing dragonflys.

I have been reading your post for about three weeks now, probably at least three hours a day (in my off time at work Jay my hat goes off to you and your accomplishment,,,, my hat also goes off to your first mate! While reading your posts, what an emotional roller coaster,,,, excited-heart sinkin--shed some tears---and TOTAL AWE!!!!! CONGRATS to you and your family to the new completed addition to the fam!!! great lookin boat jay.

lol....that tower you installed is almost identical to an lt wake tower....the bends are just a bit different.....but the basic tower is the same.....i wonder if the same company makes it?..(its off shore too) i am a licensed installer here in the okanagan for them. i do dozens of the installs every season.

i use longer stainless bolts so i can go thru the foot, hull and backing plate. but they are a great tower.

That's correct, yes. I just turned 40.

Just wanted to chime in and say...congrats. Amazing job, inspirational. Just picked up my first boat, older. Lots to do.

Ok, guys, I am running out of things to do on this boat. I am sad that it is really coming to and end, but is ain't over yet!!!!!

I got the carpet in .... Whooooohooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This was a very long process. I had to order the template, cut out the template, and send it away and wait for a price. It was WAAAAAAAAYYYYY more expensive than I ever thought it would be (little over 8 hundred shipped), but it was well worth it. It looks and fits perfectly, and I do not even have to use anything to hold it down. It is so heavy It just lays perfect.

Here is the story.

My Dada and I cutting the template. Just take your time with this, and it will lay out.

We left about one inch around the outside for water shedding

You need to cut relief slits so that they can bind the carpet, and allow you to lay it around the seat.

Silver and grey berber

I chose Sunbrella Canvas for the binding

This is the Aquamat backing that adds all the weight.
