Those are some really good names. I like the one about letting my Mom name her. I just might take here a list and let he pick.

My Dad came over again today and helped out. What a blessing. The deck is glued and screwed!!!!! I will post video and pictures later.

How about the name "REALLY!!".

Actually +1 "Here I go again".

Were gonna be at Arbuckle Lake in Sulphur, OK the weekend of JUN, 17. I think you could make it at this pace.

Hey Jay,

I have a name with a double meaning. When (if ever) I finish mine, I am going to name it "Born Again". I tried looking at your pics on FB but it was taking forever to load them. I'll just wait until you post the video. Thanks, Steven

Jay,
Those gel-coated decks look so cool that I want to rip up my fresh (2 years) carpet and coat it with gel-coat... You're looking really good, I like your idea of the seat pedestals too. Thanks for sharing your experience in this project, it's making us all better boat (build) ers...

:)

PS: I would vote for the "Here I go again!!" for her name too. Exactly how you have it in the title of this thread. I mean come on Jay, you're famous!!!

There is no doubt in our minds that she needs a new name. Go through the proper ceremony and such but that old name has no significance anymore. She's a completely new boat already and you're not even done yet.

Wow, that is alot of votes for the "here I go again".

Nick... I am not sure about Famous, maybe infamous. Funny thing happened on Thursday. I was in West Marine bleeding money when this guy came up to me and said "Hey, you are the guy from you tube, right". Caught me way off guard.

Anyway, here are some pictures from yesterday. My Dad and I got the Deck glued, screwed and PBed in. Today I will be tabbing.

We started by marking where the stringers were on the top of the stringers.

Sure looks nice with the deck in huh?

And the video. Sorry about the fan noise, but it was hot and we had to use it.

Re: Here I go again!! 1995 Sea Ray 220 Signature Deck and Stringer Restoration

Thanks Bear!

I need opinions!!! I have enough glass to either to 1 layer of 1708 on the deck finished with 1.5oz CSM or... finish the deck with 2 layers of 1.5 oz CSM.

Also when tabbing to the hull, One layer or two of 1708?

What do you think?

Deck - 2xCSM
Tabs 1x1708x1CSM

IMHO

Thanks wood! Can the second layer of CSM be where the deck covering wraps up the hull side?

I noticed you said it was hot and you had to use the fans. I will trade you some rain for some heat. I can't even do glass work since it rains almost every day. This summer is starting worse than last summer which only lasted a week.

I noticed you mentioned the strips under the tank. A couple things you might be able to use.

Starboard can be had down to 1/4" thick and can be cut with a saw or router. The only downside is glue does not really stick to it so if you are looking for a permanent bond it may not happen. You could tack it down with 5200 and it should hold until you get your tank in.

You could also look into EDPM roofing rubber. Not sure of it's resistance to fuel, but it should be resistant to water as it is a roofing barrier.

You could also run your neoprene strips the other way so it creates channels and it should have very little contact with water that way.
