This is how the ad in C/L reads:

Boat Engine trailer - needs TLC but must go!! - great starter boat or someone who is handy. Little TLC and this will be a fun boat.

So many things to marvel at on this one http://harrisburg.craigslist.org/boa/1262952767.html (price, paint, seats!, etc.)
hey, it looks like you can still use the seat belts too!

Here's another weird one: "It is a 17ft tahiti on a single axle competitive trailer it does run and hasnt run in over 20 years."

Yeah, I noticed that too. I'm guessing it isn't going to just need a shot of gas and a fresh battery

I saw one the other day, in which he said "boat ran great last weekend but due to a run-in with the law I have to sell it ASAP."

I also see lots of ads for boats with a "cubby cabin."

I like "the haul is good" . . . Is he trying to tell me it tows well or that it won't sink?

But ez . . . that L drive is rare!!! Not on that add, but I love the "rare" thing. I want to say "So the flip what? It's rare because nobody wanted them when they were new and nobody wants them now . . ." Ahhhhhh!!!!

Here's one with a "he must be dreaming" price tag. http://lancaster.craigslist.org/boa/1268862580.html
Boats seem to be a lot cheaper in the US. Up in Canada, asking price on that 1990 would be up around 8 or 9 if it's in decent condition. (And even though we're talking CAD$, the exchange isn't _that_ much right now :D).

SeanT, I think you are correct about boats being more $$ in canada. However the one I posted is crack pipe in price because the L drive is SO bad and impossible to find parts for that that boat could almost be considered engineless. I wouldn't pay $400 for it.

for $400, read that "assume not."

I saw an old Glastron for $600 and just had to email the guy; I commented that it looked great. His reply: "everything looks great on craigs list. This one needs a lot of work." Truer words were never spoke....
