Re: Deck coating / Turned complete restore

Hi ahmincha,
Been catching your thread off and on for awhile now and finally got all caught up with...
Sorry to see it went from a bit of cosmetic work to the full monty, but hey, it is what this forum is all about...
Glad to see you took the initiative and literally dove right in.
You have been doing some excellent prep work so far and I just know you are going to end up with one fine craft when you are all done.
At this time I really can't add anything that the awesome guys helping you out, haven't already covered...
The one thing I will warn you about is that US Composites will NOT sell directly from their location.
They have an agreement with local businesses in Palm Beach County to this effect
I am only 80 or so miles from them and asked them by phone if I could drive up and pick up supplies, and they said NO!
The only way would be for me to have the items shipped to another county and pick them up there, or just have them shipped to my house, which in my particular case would have made sense...it would have cost me almost the same to drive to a nearby county and pick up my order at the local post office as have it delivered to my home...
The only thing I can suggest is to price the supplies as being delivered to your home versus a county nearby that your friend can pass by and pick up for you...
Let me add that glassing supplies can be quite bulky [3-4 fivers of resin will easily take up most of the trunk space in a regular car and they need to be secured and upright to prevent the possibility of making a really huge mess, should one or more tip over and break open...] and in the heat of a car, can get a bit stinky...which if your friend is on a vacation with family, may be a bit of a nuisance...
Best of luck and Have Fun!

I heard Palm Beach County & 100% agree with GT. They will not let you get it here(I live in PB County). I don't know about your friend & how far he/she is coming, but I get all my supplies at Glue Products(561-833-1863), ask for Brittney. 5 gal of resin-$100, 1 gal gelcoat-$45 just to give you a couple of prices. They are located just off I-95 & Southern Blvd(where the West Palm Airport exit is). Hope this helps.

Whatever "width" you want to use(I use the 50", they will then roll off a yard from the roll. Fer instance, if I get 2 yards of 50" csm, I will have a piece 50" wide by 72"(2yds) long.

A square yard is 3' x 3'. This is not sold in square yards.

Re: Deck coating / Turned complete restore

Was wondering if anyone has any experience with these guys Custom marine fuel tanks for recreational, commercial crafts, U.S. Coast Guard, aluminum, steel, stainless steel, Jersey Shore, NJ, New Jersey I have checked all over Iboats first bu stock tanks just don't work with my hull

No, but someone did recommend these guys:

S P fabricates custom aluminum marine fuel tanks to exceed US Coast Guard specifications. Including gas, diesel, holding and water tanks. Marine equipment supplies including neoprene, adhesives and sending units.

But I can't remember who. Try them both.....

Nice looking sewing machine

IMHO I would advise you to use it. There's nothing worse than to have to try an track down electrical issues. That goes for ANYTHING!!! Boats, Cars, Houses...ANYTHING!!!!! That's just an Old Dumb Okies Opinion!!!:D
