Atlanta had a Tornado whizz through downtown. Has Saskatchewan ever had that happen? I would like to see how you handled that one haha

Yes. The city I live near too was destroyed by a tornado long ago. Saskatchewan gets lots of them, and wicked thunderstorms with huge hail.
Its been as hot as 113 Fahrenheit and as cold as -70 Fahrenheit.
And your point?

Most of it is okay Bubba - to be honest, some of the yahoos spin out in rain showers down here in Nashville. So, some of the ribbing is well deserved. But you really can't expect (as some comments seem to suggest) that we're equipped to handle snow and ice events like we've been having this year.

No real harm done.

You know for years I had always wondered how people do that; end up in the median or on the side whatever. I wondered until last year. Running up to the 'boro on 24 one morning raining like hell (about exit 89). Now I've got a 3500 cummins with some pretty aggressive tread on the tires and I even slowed down to about 50. There was a car pacing right behind me - about 5 miles. The rain finally let up and I kicked to about 60 but the other car thought he would do about 80. Problem was that while the rain had stopped, it hadn't drained off the roadway yet. Right after he passed me, off to the median, into a culvert probably killed the front end undercarriage.

My thing about the snow is if you don't know how to deal with it, stay off the road. I get the South doesn't deal with it that's ok but stay off the road.

Cracks me up that they've got us under a winter weather advisory (technically for tomorrow) but it's 60? out here too.

I really don't understand it either - I'm convinced that they take applications for morning wrecks on 24 up by Hickory Hollow. Though, some of it must have to do with how they make our roads. The most noticeable place to me is on 440 between 24 and 65 … I don't know what that whole "grooved" gig is about, but it's a death trap with any kind of snow or ice.

Too many "buckaroos" down here think if they've got a big 'ole truck and 4WD they can drive however they wanna'.

I don't know. haha I don't know the point of this thread was except to belittle a culture of people. I don't see how that fits into I-boats we are family atmosphere? Yea 10s of 1000s of people were stranded on side of the road. Many because they couldn't get past jack knifed tractor trailers. Lets kick them while they are down. Make fun of them. Mock them. Act superior to them... Start of your thread Boo hoo.... That would trolling for trouble in my opinion

"Tribune wire reports8:10 a.m. CST, February 2, 2014

Punxsutawney Phil, a famed U.S. groundhog with an even more famous shadow, emerged from his burrow on Sunday and predicted six more weeks of winter, much to the chagrin of those hoping for an early spring. The rotund rodent exited his subterranean residence at Gobblers Knob in the western Pennsylvania town of Punxsutawney around 7:30 a.m. on Groundhog Day.
The fuzzy forecaster made his appearance to the shouts of "groundhog," as eager spectators waited to see whether the groundhog - as the legend goes - will see his shadow and predict six more weeks of snow and freezing temperatures. If he does not, we can expect an early spring."

My only comment - Death to Punxsutawney Phil!!!! Die Phil - DIE!!!!

The good news, Phil is right 40% of the time. :whoo:

The bad news, we got more lake effect snow over night than Atlanta had. :smow:

A fitting end to this thread - Death to Punxsutawney Phil! This guy had it right! Ohio prosecutor seeks death penalty for Punxsutawney Phil after bad forecast

Here is a link to a YouTube video of the rodent emerging from his burrow. I was going to imbed it, but I saw Bill Murray in the crowd. It plays over and over and over. It never ends. :faint2: So it's best to open the link in a new browser window. RAW: Pa. Groundhog Day event 2012 - YouTube

I would be thrilled with only 6 more weeks of winter. That "would" be an early spring for us.........;)

Its to be expected Bruce, you know in the "Peoples Republic of California" they ration those temps, and now that it is February, it is time for some cold for about 60 days! LMFAO!

Re: Boo hoo - We had a little snow and ice...

Watching a local news broadcast from Chicago the other day the well known meteorologist was stating that this area has been 6-12 degrees below normal sense October through December. Not avg. but actual temps. Didn't mention January in there but it seems we have been 10-25 degrees below normal sense the 1st of the year. Most days we are not even reaching are historically low temps as a daytime high. Also just seen a report that we had recieved more than a trace amout of snow 21 out of the last 30 days.

As someone else stated it's pretty sad when one hopes it will warm up to 20 degrees.
