61 here now. 60s yesterday. Supposed to be 65 Wednesday. 40s and 50s the rest of the week. So this month looks back to normal. Usually we go back and forth from the 40s to 60s this time of year. Last year, we had 70s and 80s in February and I went boatin. Then it got colder in March which was kinda sickening. You just never know from month to month or year to year these days. You can throw out the weather history or averages

Sounds like tomorrow could get interesting. Forecasts are all over the map. Around here we had predictions anywhere from 1 to 15 inches, depending on who you got it from and the really heavy stuff passing to the south of us. Now talking about maybe 2 inches.

We can't blame the ice and snow for that one. Maybe the wanted some new :car:s? :joyous:

The ice and wind are both building - Not good. Currently almost 1200 outages for GA Power affecting about 118K customers.

... one often forgets how many cave systems we have in this/that area of the country. That's not even 70 miles from Mammoth caves. I doubt it was weather related, but the newsies did credit it to that this morning.

How are you doing through all of this? Sounds like they've nearly closed traffic down coming outta' Chattanooga toward Atlanta, and I can't imagine trying to cross Mt. Eagle going into Chattanooga from the sounds of things.

We've got nearly nuthin' in Nashville as of yet.

The newies blame everything on weather, especially in the South this week. :don:

The good news is the people have stayed off the roads for the most part. And with little traffic the salt trucks are able to get treatment on the road, unlike a couple of weeks ago when the interstates were miles long parking lots. What GADOT is doing on the major roads is salt the right lane and it's working. They don't have the equipment to to do an eight lane, so it's good strategy. Except I just saw a report about downed power lines, plenty around, with police set-up road blocks. The cops are watching cars drive around the sawhorses and ignoring the cops. I think trigger fingers may be getting itchy.


I'm Northwest of Atlanta not too far from I-75 and have about 1/4" of ice with another 1/4" + called for. The tree branches are drooping, but still have power. Temps have been dropping and what were slushy roads are freezing now. The bad - Up to a foot of snow is coming on top of the ice. That will bring the power lines down and there are about 1800 outages now, gonna get worse.

I'm set with milk, bread and wobbly pops.

LOL - My FIL is on his way down to our place from Michigan. He's planning on going to FL this weekend, and I don't know if he's really looked at how sloppy the Southeast is right now.

Hang in GA. In six months we'll be griping about how blasted hot it is.

My favorite thing about winter in the South: Let it snow like crazy as far as I'm concerned. Pretty as a Peach for about 24 to 48 hours, then pretty much gone.

Hey - It's above freezing and we're making water. Lotsa slick spots on the roads, better than the past two days. Power Co. still has about 250K customers in the dark. :blue: Lucky for me, never flickered. :joyous: Hurry Spring!!!!!!!!!!

Next week temps are getting damn near 70 degrees.

Long term forecast predicts one more brush with ol' man winter for the last week of February, then we move into a spring pattern; cool and wet.

Yep, saw some 70s for next week in the South. This kind of winter really makes you appreciate those temps. I will not say a bad thing about it being 100 degrees this Summer, Lord. Not one. Won't even think it haha Still a lot of snow out there in SC
